Nice one mate.....we're forecast rain for the entire round tomorrow, but in a peverse sort of way i kinda enjoy that as I know most of the field won't. Just got to dig out the Macwets....

See my playing partner Hawkeye has gone back up. Looked like he had a decent round apart from the par 3's. Obviously not focussed enough without having to carry me. Anyone playing tomorrow (not me obviously) as the forecast for this part of the world is not great. Lie in planned and get up just in time to watch Fulham on the box

played at woodhall today in a stableford comp, 18 going out thinking not played my best but hey keep it going, then 1 point in next 4 holes, found bunkers and all kinds of trouble, total 28 points

I've had the pleasure of two rounds this weekend. I had the afternoon off work yesterday and played 18 with one of the guys from the pro-shop and a mate of his. After getting over the initial feeling of not wanting to show myself up, I was 4 over through 4 and felt pretty good. Felt very relaxed at this point and was really not thinking about too much when over the ball. I then parred the next 4 holes. A really nice run, and I had a few lip outs on those holes so it could've been even better. Back 9 was also ok, though a few triples ruined any chance of a pb. Not a surprise though as it got fecking cold across the top part of the course with the mist descending. No jumper = cold arms = crap swing! Ended up with a gross 87 and a total of 7 pars. Very encouraging and I'm fairly confident that the bad holes on the back 9 were down to frostbite / hypothermia!

As for today, much the same, though I threw in a few more errors but a very enjoyable round all the same. Feeling that it's starting to come together a bit more and am gagging for the qualifiers to start. Plenty of improvement to be made, but yesterday was a real eye opener of what I can do when I relax. Feel that that little extra consistency is all that is holding me back, so fingers crossed I can find it when it matters.

Mixed bag today.

Weather was mostly dry but windy as hell. Made for some interesting shot selections.

Was accurate off the tee all day, which was nice and mid-iron/approach shots were ok on the whole. Started with a birdie after a nice drive with a 3 wood and small wedge to 2ft on the first but gave it back on the 2nd hole par 5 with a bogey.

Putting was generally good (despite the greens being utterly terrible) but my short game was very up and down, so, will hopefully get a chance to work on that over the next few weeks.

Was under whelmed with the course though, especially for the prices they charge for membership. First time I've played it and I won't be rushing back. Some interesting holes but even for the winter months, the course was in suspect condition. Greens were patchy, bare and bobbly.

hoping to nip down for 9 holes at my potential new club tomorrow to see what it's like but it will depend on the weather in the morning! :D

Anticipated the rain today so played the Saturday swindle yesterday instead.

First round with the new irons.... took the pot with 41 points, 74 gross! That'll do! :D

The new irons went like a dream, but it was also the short game that was on form... made 6/8 up and downs, and 26 putts thanks to Bob's tempo tip.

Can't wait for the big comps to start next month.

It's been raining a fair bit here last night so it looks like I'll be needing my waterproofs today, still beats a day with sour face!

I was all up for sneaking off for another 18 holes, the £25 cost and the weather made me think this was not the weekend for it... When the clocks change just call me Mr Twilight Golf!

Played Saturday, and came fourth, lost on countback to the 2nd and 3rd teams. My putting was dreadful, and certainly lost us a couple of points, although thinking back the other guys also last some points too, so not totally down to me ... But really disappointed in myself, particularly as the 2nd place prizes were a new wedge.

Cheered myself but picking up an ex-rental motocaddy s1 from the pro shop (brand new 36 hole battery included) and I've got a weekend pass to play :) ....... but look at the weather !!!!

Wet and windy today. Tough going in medal format nett 76 but lots of positive signs. Drained some really good putts today - thanks Bob. No penalties :) just some poor strikes and bunker play holding me back. Moving in the right direction :)

That didn't work then did it........!!

Yep - started raining five minutes after I posted. Had rain for the first hole then it cleared up nicely for the remainder of the round.

As far as the round went. 92 for 34 points so not what I hoped but lots of positives. The Mactec driver is keeping everything on the fairway and the irons were better than they have been for a while. Not much need for stats either - 38 putts and not a single par on the par 3's.

Were you out today?
Can't see it being open with all the rain we've had this morning....

I played 18 yesterday, it was spitting with rain at a few points through the round but it never came to anything.

I putted dreadfully. Shot 91, which I'm actually ok about. If I had putted better I could have taken 8 strokes off of that score.

Cracking weekend for me, won our open Friday shooting gross 70, the learned today I won the 9 hole sweep yesterday with 22 points, had a couple 2's over the two days so now 110 quid better off in my club account :). Played 18 today too which was nice, just for the craic though.

Really heavy rain and snow today.......32 points won the swindle and I came in with 31 to just keep my nose ahead in the Order of Merit........wet, wet wet....

I had a nice sunny round on Saturday with therod and his mate around Brokenhurst Manor golf club. We played with the clubs chairman as it was an open day for potential members. Apart from a few sh*nks around the first green I was pretty pleased with how I played and my putter was well behaved too.
The course was in nice condition and they have been busy through the winter making changes to the course. The club gained a few extra members that day too so I'm looking forward to regaining a proper handicap again. :)
