Is it just me or are other fellow golf enthusiasts obsessed with weather forecasts?
I find myself checking 3 separate apps about 5 times a day for the next round I'm having and I think I've become a tad obsessed!

If any of you are similar, which forecasts/websites/apps, do you find are the most reliable?
I tend to pick the one that has the best forecast, but that isn't the right way to find the best one obviously.

I just use the Met office App - it's pretty accurate (as you would hope, coming straight from the horses mouth, as it were)

I don't tend to bother when playing at Nairn, but if Im going to Tain Or Dornoch i check Wunderground. they link to small weather stations (private) and never been wrong so far.

The night before, check golf weather and sort the mornings clothes accordingly. Double check in the morning.

You can't change the weather only dress for it

I use my right knee. If it hurts, it's going to rain  If it doesn't hurt, it's going to be dry and sunny :D

From Wednesday onwards I start looking at the forecasts, particularly if it's a big comp coming up at the weekend. I start with BBC weather (least accurate IMHO), then AccuWeather and finally Met Office (most reliable). It's not until Friday night/Saturday morning that I start to believe what they say. Not obsessed but it is something that I do each week as I like to plan for whatever is in store. I.E. if it is forecasting heavy rain I make sure al the waterproofs, wet weather gloves, umbrella etc are packed.

The Met Office will give you the most accurate forecasts. But as I have stated before, due to where we are on the earths surface which leads to the type of weather we often get, it can be very tricky to forecast exactly what will happen down to the accuracy of a golf course anything over 24 hours in the future.

MET Office app for me too.

I check on a Wednesday initially, and then don't bother getting worked up until Friday night!

As others have said, the night before is best.

Or just look out of the window on the day!

The BBC forcast for the last two days up here has been totally wrong.

We have been due heavy rain all day thurs and friday, not a drop, been bright sunshine both days.

lets hope they don't say its going to be nice in Nairn Tomorrow morning:rofl:

What is this APE you all speak of? Up north we open the curtains. If the cobbles are wet its raining. If the washing is horizontal its windy. If the wifey is whinging its time for golf.

I love the Galvin Green app. You say where and when you are playing, and it gives you a weather forecast and tells you what to wear. Always many layers of GG outfits, usually, in my opinion, too many for the temperature!

I prefer to look out of the window.
