Waterproof golf jackets

I have a mizuno impermalite flex jacket and adidas clima storm trousers and they work fine, the jacket packs up small but is quite waterproof and wind proof and with a baselayer and jumper/pullover underneath I stay plenty warm, only £79 I think might even be cheaper now

I have an FJ and Proquip set. Neither are goretex as far as I know but both have stood up to everything thrown at it this winter

Quick whinge about waterproofs! Very often wet hands stick to the lining of the pockets and you shower golf balls, tees and pencils all over the place as you pull them out. Could the pockets be sewn into the lining and made of a material that won't stick to wet skin?

Just how many golf balls and pencils do you carry around in your pockets???

For the OP.....you can't beat GG...I have the paclite version as well as the normal one and can't recommend highly enough. As a bonus, my hand has never stuck to the lining of the pocket ensuring the contents stay within when pulling my hand out... :whoo:

If you're just after water/wind proof rather than full goretex I got an Under Armour storm gear jacket for this winter and would highly recommend it.

The "best" will be GG though......

This applies to the pockets in waterproof jackets as well! My current jacket is a Proquip, and apart from the whinge about the pockets it is very good and keeps the rain out very well. It is also very light and comfortable to wear.

I bought a good Gore-Tex suit (seperately trousers and jacket) from www.justgolfonline.co.uk for £170 and really happy with it and their service. I see also that Adidas on their own web site were doing a Gore-Tex jacket at about £100.

I just bought Sunice jacket & trousers from the same place as Chris following his post in another thread. I bought goretex paclite trousers on sale for £49 reduced from £150 with lifetime waterproof warranty. The jacket I went for is not goretex, but was also reduced from £150 to £49 and comes with a 4 year waterproof guarantee.

Very happy with both items thus far, have worn waterproofs more this year already than I did the whole of last year......

does anyone own a footjoy dryjoy pro jacket? i was thinking about getting one of those.they look nice!!

I have dryjoy jacket and trousers, they are 3 years old now and have been washed and worn many times. Still COMPLETELY waterproof and warm. The trousers have a zip fly and belt loops and are quite fitted, so personally I change into them in the locker room and wear them as normal trousers on the course throughout the winter.

I ordered the GG jacket yesterday and it arrived today. Excellent service from Snainton Golf, especially with the discount. I hope that the jacket lives up to its price!

GG is the way to go - my paclite which I had for 5 years started to leak - my pro sent it to GG.

My model was no longer available so they gave me the choice of a new Jacket - free.

Similar happened to me, except I caught mine on a branch and ripped it!! asked the prop who I bought it from if anything could be done in the way of repair and he contacted GG for me and because I have a wardrobe full of GG stuff from base layers to waterproofs they sent me a brand new jacket FOC in the updated model. Cant ask for more than that.
