Wales

You forgot to add that half the welsh and Irish team are cockneys 😂

But qualified by parents or grandparents. This eligibility did not apply to Giggs who, by the way, should have made himself available to Wales more often in my opinion.

Gutted with the result, but Wales weren’t good enough. Loads of possession but the end product was very poor.

Also, it was bizzare to replace Joe Allen with Jonny Williams and then ask Ramsey to sit deep. He needs to be further up the pitch to be effective.

Hey ho, just hope Wales arrange some decent friendlies in the lead up to the World Cup so some of the younger players coming through get decent game time and experience before the next round of qualifiers start.

Aye, he barely pulled on a Wales shirt iirc, always cried off. So should Giggs have a crack at being Wales manager with this in mind?

I hope he doesn’t get a shot at it. Doesn’t deserve it on a number of levels.

If Coleman doesn’t sign a new contract I’d prefer someone with significant international experience.

I thought we had heard the last of the old myth that Giggs could have played for England.

For the last time; going to school in England doesn't qualify a player for the national side.

As for the OP Iwould suggest a trip to the doctor to get his meds changed.
It's a shame no one told the English FA before he got his one cap pulling on the 3 lions shirt at U16s

That was not the FA but the English Schools Football Association, a separate body (the clue is in the name).

To represent English Schools it's only necessary to be attending a school in England. Nationalitydoesn't enter into it.

Hope that finally clears it up for you.

why should we let the truth get in the way of a good story after all were related to fishermen when it comes to telling stories 😁👍

But fishermen always exaggerate the size of things and none of us on here would do that!

Would we!?

Well after all the stick I've got on this, I'll attempt to defend my Op. I was always told when going down injured / hurt whatever to get up and get on with it and stop being so mard. Parents eh? I've played and so have many of my team mates when obviously carrying a knock that is affecting my ability so play at 100%, but seeing as the choice was to have us on the pitch or bring on an inferior substitute the manager would always leave us on until the game was virtually certain to be won. I cannot see why everyone got so upset over my op. Maybe you're all a bit younger and had more sympathetic parents. :D

I played club hockey for many years, played with bumps, bruises, aches and pains. These types of things you can get on with. A couple of times I was properly injured, one a muscle strain, one my knee went on me, ended my hockey playing days. On both occasions I could do nothing more than walk / hobble. Not being soft or mardie, your muscles / joints will not work and all you will do is tear them further. You get off the pitch, put on the ice and rest. You have clearly never had a genuine muscle injury if you think you can just man up and get on with it.

Huge difference between knocks and aches and real muscle / joint issues.

What it does show is how out of date a view like yours is

A lot of the guys that played during the 70’s and 80’s that “manned” up and played through injury are now walking cripples with multiple injuries and a lot of them suffering with daily pain

Gareth Bale didn’t have a “knock” - he has a confirmed muscle injury with a calf injury - modern football is a lot more physical demanding than in previous decades, the players are pure athletes highly tuned to get the very best out Of them - teams spend millions on these players and also millions on the best coaches and equipment - it’s a billion pound sport now and clubs rely on their players being at the very top of their game. So players can’t just man up and play injured even more so when it’s not just a knock and it’s a muscle injury and even more so when it’s a player who relies on his pace

Your OP was poor - utterly clueless about modern football and then in very poor taste when you suggested he let his country down.

This is disturbingly true.

Also if you look back at games and a/ see their physique and b/ see the pace the game was played at then you can see times are very different. Players now are athletes, muscles are constantly on the edge.
