At blimmin last.

I've been gagging for it, and at last I managed to satisfy my natural urges.

I actually managed to get out there and play 18 holes.

I might be wrong, but I remember playing ( badly ) with Homer HTL and JoUK on 21st May. I also managed 9 holes 2 or 3 weeks ago at Horam ( Not sure if that counts as a golf course, tho' ).

Apart from that nothing. Nada. Nowt.

Ok so it was only Wellshurst. Not the greatest course around, but an oasis in my hour of need.

I had no expectation ( obviously ), was just doing up my laces when invited to join up with another solo player, so no warm up before teeing off for my first full round in exactly four weeks.

Stats :

Gross , 87. Two 7s and a nine in that lot.
Points, 38.
Putts , 31. Only 1 proper 3 putt. ( Plus one from the fringe )

9 over gross after 6 holes, then par, birdie, par, par, bogey (SI1), bogey (3putt) for the next 6.

Two drives over 250 yards ( long by my standards )

It might not be golf to you cat1 and cat2 guys, but to me it's better than bad sex.

And a good man knows his limitations. My limitations are time, money and talent.

Well, I wouldn't go that far.

First 6 holes were warm up using a Callaway ball, and then the guy I was playing with found a nice juicy Srixon Soft Feel, which he kindly donated to the cause.

I used it from there on in and it must have been the better quality ball that did all the damage. It definately felt better for putting.

Oh and PS.

Note to Smiffy.

That <u>was</u> 31 putts. Plus 2 from the fringe. The birdie was from 12-15 feet range, and there were at least 3 or 4 putts sunk in the 4-6 foot range. And only one squiggly miss from 3 foot.

No you can't have it back.

if i come back in with a decent round like that today ill be delighted.
By the way those soft feels are pretty good for putting and off the tee....They seem to keep me a little straighter.

That's coz you can play golf as often as you like, and occasionally do it quite well, whereas the sex........
