"Never close to winning one doesn't say "too good not to win one" to me, it says not good enough. All of the other top players had won one by Murrays age, he's not going to get any better, face facts"

I can see Murray-Djokovic becoming THE tennis rivalry of the next 2-3 years.

Federer still plays some sublime tennis at times but when he's off he struggles with the physicality of guys like Novak/Murray. And he is getting older.

Nadal is beginning to struggle more and more with injuries.

As talented as guys like Tsonga & Berdych are they don't look like making that next step any time soon.

Think Murray will end up with 4-6 slams by the time he calls it a day and will go down as the greatest player this country has ever produced.

Have to say that I think you have it nailed but a lot will hinge on how well Nadal can recover from injury.

"If you're aim is to lose in finals, it's success. If your aim is to win in finals, it's failure. I think he's achieved a lot and should be proud, but I can't stand this "it's a matter of time" attitude towards him. If he wins one, which I don;t think he will, it'll be a matter of luck and results falling the right way for him"

Well I'm happy to say I was wrong and offer my congratulations to the Surrey based Murray, clearly spending so much time in England has had a positive effect.

Mungo, thanks for the attention and although it's flattering to think I'm in your thoughts so much, I'm a happily married man :-)

You can see why BITTER is the national drink of England now.
Can't even praise the guy without a Little Englander comment, sad.

It was Judy shipping him out to Spain and raising two fingers to the massively underperforming G&T swigging SURREY based brigade at the LTA that 'made' Murray.

Not Scotland then ? I'd agree with that

Colin, were you the man that used to do the right ups about the forum for the mag or am I getting mixed up?

Aside from that has Andy been handed a knighthood yet?

Yip Colin was and he did a dam fine job to be honest. He's now never going to live the above quotes down as long as mungo is on the forum!!!!!

I'm not entirely sure Colin was being 100% serious with his reply. In my book he did well to reply at all after being so adamant Murray would do nothing.

On a different thread he would be being praised for a classic wind up, where are the cries of 'we've got a big one now?'

I will miss our arguments, and I will certainly not be gloating in victory.:whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::ears::ears::ears::ears::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::clap::clap::clap::clap:
