Looked a lot better early doors and was driving it well

Just shows that it doesn’t take much to lose shots when you get some awful lies in the rough

JJ Spaun was absolutely phenomenal today -4 might be massive if it firms up even more

One of my regular playing partners doesn’t even like the roads going through Liphook and Worplesdon… He’s not keen on the motorway that goes through the middle of Oakmont to say the least

Plenty of links courses are visually a bit dull (some are totally beautiful mind you) esp in grey skies etc….and links courses are superb as a rule!

I don’t like at all the road noise that you hear at the Berkshire Blue at times, the M25 at the top end of Walton Heath, and the road noise at West Hill and the actual road on Liphook.
But all are great courses!


And I absolutely wouldn’t clamour for membership at Oakmont that’s for sure (if I moved in those circles and Pinehurst/Pine Valley and Cypress Point were alternate options!!) - that road really is quite hideous

I am enjoying this first round,but give me Augusta any day.
