Tour Winner
Not a concert but Moulin Rouge for the 2nd time in Piccadilly ,just superb
Defo was a great day, as you said, the whole line-up was stellarI didn’t realise for over twenty years that it had all been recorded and was available on DVD. It’s well worth a watch. Michael Hutchence really knew how to work a crowd.
And the support line up was handy. Debbie Harry, Roachford, Hothouse Flowers and Jesus Jones.
Best gig I ever went to by an absolute country mile.
The Darkness tomorrow night supported by Ash
I am seeing them at the weekend at the indie weekenderNow Ash are a band I've enjoyed live in the past - be interested to hear if they still have the energy they used to bring to the stage.
Was never the biggest Gabriel era fan although some of the more "popular" stuff from those albums I like. I do like a good backstage pass so make sure you enjoy it. Next up a trip on the tour bus although in my various cases not quite as rock and roll as I'd imagined or hoped forThis evening it's The Musical Box - a brilliant Genesis (Gabriel era) re-enactment band. They are much more than a tribute band - they re-enact the actual stage shows that Genesis put on back in the early-mid 1970s, including using the same lighting and effects as of the original show.
This evening is the Genesis 1972/73 show with the setlist from that show primarily tracks from Trespass, Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot - and that's what the band will do this evening - so we'll have the lead 'Peter Gabriel' costumed up as the Watcher of the Skies and the old man of Musical Box.
Plus as my lad is working on the show he has got me complementary 'best seats in the house' tickets...and as he's done a few tours with them and mentioned I'm a fan they said that he should bring me backstage after the show.
Should be cool...heading off to Guildford v shortly.

Was an excellent gig, also was able to meet a couple of the band backstage after the show and had a good chat with them. Nice guys - and great musicians. Their next tour will be different - likely comprising tracks from A Trick of the Tail; Wind and Wuthering, and Then There Were Three. Some absolutely great stuff on these three albums. Was never the biggest Gabriel era fan although some of the more "popular" stuff from those albums I like. Back stage is always good fun. Aside from my friendship with Fish it was always great to hear them open the story box, usually around tours with other bands as musicians or singers in the group, or listening to their musical influences. Interesting to also see their squirreling habits from the back stage riders for taking back on the tour bus for later. Who goes for the wine/beer, who goes for the cheese, who takes all the crisps. Was an excellent gig, also was able to meet a couple of the band backstage after the show and had a good chat with them. Just seen one of my heroes, Francis Rossi from Status Quo doing a solo acoustic set of his songs from the Quo Songbook in Aylesbury
Great concert, did a meet & greet beforehand, what a nice guy.
