Upcoming live concerts.

I can’t think of anything worse than attending a festival like that and I love going to gigs.
Been twice, hired a campervan both times.

The first time (2007) the rain and the mud was biblical, tents were getting washed away and folk were leaving on the Saturday morning.

Pulp at the O2 on Saturday, really looking forward to it. Saw the set list they played in Glasgow at the weekend and would be well pleased if they repeat on Saturday.
No support band either, just two sets by Pulp. 👍
Well that was a terrific evening, best song of the night F.E.E.L.I.N.G C.A.L.L.E.D L.O.V.E great performance.

Nice bit of scoff at Gaucho too! 😁

How was it?

Sorry,just seen your post 👆🤦‍♂️
In regards to the whole Britpop war between Blur and Oasis, there was only ever one winner for me. Pulp.😆

Jarvis is a brilliant songwriter and performer. Last night he was on top form, chatting with the audience, jumping down and walking around with a camera giving them chocs or grapes. Singing great old bangers (would have liked a few more tbh but that’s just me) as well as singing 4/5 from his new album. Which is at number 1, so he is entitled to.
They did 23 songs in two sets. Tbh I think they should have had a support band too.

Looking back now I can’t believe blur were even in the conversation.
I was always Oasis & OCS.
But Pulp & Verve were up there.
Urban hymns is in the top 5 albums for me.

All about opinions but think Blur were better than Oasis!😂

They had the better songs and a better singer. Listening to Noel and Liam mangling lyrics make my skin crawl😁
I think Radiohead were better than either of them.

Oasis were the best. Just the sheer number of hits they had is unreal really. Even the lesser-heard ones like Slide Away, Gas Panic, etc, amazing songwriting. Blur I quite liked, their music is a bit more eclectic probably, but I grew up as a huge Oasis fan. Guess I was the right sort of age as Morning Glory came out when I was around 9 years old.

Don't like Pulp at all. Saw them live at a festival 10 or something years ago and found Cocker's prancing about the stage embarrassing. Compared to the other acts that day - the likes of Iggy Pop, Seasick Steve, Foo Fighters - they were just nowhere near the level, we were bored rigid. He can't really sing, just mumbles through half the song. Two-hit wonders is all they are.

I love Radiohead - but they're not Britpop, at all, so not sure why they've been brought up here. 😄 OK Computer is often voted the best album of all time, with good reason.

Sam Fender was surprisingly good last night however CMAT stole the show for me, amazing singer.
Wasn’t keen on all the Toon Toon rubbish at the gig, felt like an NUFC love in 🤮
My daughter was there on Saturday, loved it. I was in Newcastle on Thursday evening, not for the gig. Based on Thursday and from here description on Saturday, I'm guessing you were the only person not in a black and white shirt? You should have gone in a Wednesday top 😂 .

Surely you cheered when Dan Burn came on 🤭

I considered wearing a Wednesday top but I just couldn’t bring myself to wear a footy shirt at a gig, I have standards you know 🤣

Duran Duran next month supported by Chic. And supported by me singing "The Reflex" loudly and out of tune

Saw Maiden in Birmingham last night.

The hottest gig I’ve ever been to, but also probably one of the best. When they played Seventh Son, it was as close to a religious experience as I think I’ll ever get.

Bruce can’t hit the high notes any more but my Lord, he still sounds fantastic.

An absolutely unforgettable night.

Anyone else going on this tour, you are in for an absolute treat. Set list is perfect and I really don’t know how they still do it at such a level in their late 60’s/early 70’s
