Maiden is still a week away and - this being a ridonculous year for live music - I have Wilco, Billy Idol/New Model Army (don't laugh - it was a tenner for the ticket!) and Beth Gibbons in the meantime.

The Bends album dumps over anything Blur or Oasis recorded. I did like the debut Oasis album though - hate, hate, hate Parklife! All about opinions but think Blur were better than Oasis!
They had the better songs and a better singer. Listening to Noel and Liam mangling lyrics make my skin crawl
I think Radiohead were better than either of them.
They are an excellent live band, always a good showView attachment 58641
Duran Duran last night were superb - I got myself into the front row without any kind of stupid crush. Nile Rodgers and Chic supported and did an amazing one hour set - that guy deserved his Grammy Lifetime Recognition Award.
The only problem is Powderham Castle in Exeter as a venue. You have to walk a mile from the car parks to the venue and then it takes you around two hours to get out once you get back. Oh well, just a Careless Memory.
Saw Maiden at London Stadium. They were excellent as usual - thought the new younger drummer (well, younger than Nicko anyway) enhanced the performance. As you said, how they can still do is the big question.Saw Maiden in Birmingham last night.
The hottest gig I’ve ever been to, but also probably one of the best. When they played Seventh Son, it was as close to a religious experience as I think I’ll ever get.
Bruce can’t hit the high notes any more but my Lord, he still sounds fantastic.
An absolutely unforgettable night.
Anyone else going on this tour, you are in for an absolute treat. Set list is perfect and I really don’t know how they still do it at such a level in their late 60’s/early 70’s
Enjoy. I failed to get a ticket at a reasonable price and wasn’t paying “dynamic pricing”.Oasis tonight at Murrayfield![]()
I'd like a concert review please, when you've woken up!Tonight me and the Mrs are joining my lad at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham for…now don’t scoff…Busted vs McFly
Not my era but I’ve heard quite a lot of the stuff both bands have done…and it’s good band pop. Besides…tickets are Promotor Guest best seats in the house and costing us nowt. It’s sold out so I’m expecting a fun evening.
Only downside is that we have a 3hr drive home from Nottingham after the concert as I’m playing in an ‘important’ club Am-Am tomorrow morning - doubt we’ll be home much before 3am.
