Unofficial Handicaps

The above answers are true but perhaps not particularly helpful.....

Are you using the golfshake thing to "accurately" measure you're progress handicap wise as you would if you were a member of a club? If yes, then I wouldn't enter it for the reason's you've given.

If you're not that bothered in that sense then I'd just enter every score I get. Does it give you increases etc if you have a bad round? Never looked so not sure what it does etc

This is more like what I'm after. I appreciate I can do what I like but I want it to be as close as it can be to a real handicap. Not sure if it gives an increase but can't see why not. Cheets guys.

I am from the home of golf is there a possibility it may be different from the English rules
You said on the other thread you play Golf at a links course that doesn't use mats in winter!
All courses at St Andrews do from Nov to Feb I believe,

You need to stop digging.

I'll do a bit of research but he seemed pretty sure it was 200 yards

Amazing, the research has already been done for you and you have been given the correct advice from a h/c and comp. secretary who knows what he's talking about, find it hard how you can't accept this with good grace.

Might be a good idea to have a word with your H/c sec. to put him right.
