UEFA how low can they sink.

Shouldn't the furlough scheme be capped in some way, based on savings and personal wealth, or is it?

I don't think it is because as I've read that Levy has furloughed himself, so he will claim 80% of his £4m pa wage, seriously?

And that's just after the club's accounts for the year ending June 30, 2019 reveal Levy earned a £3m bonus for delivering the new stadium, does he really need to dip into the pot just because he can?

I'm sure there are many others doing the same, but this was a headline I just read, so not just picking on Spurs, but I do like to.......:sneaky:
Except he hasn't so probably need to go reread where you got that info from?

Nice to see the usual pair of trolls all over this thread as well :(
Really, BiM and IanM are trolls? 2 decent, intelligent blokes.

Up until your post BiM has posted 5 times and IanM 3 times, no one else more than once.

You are out of order and in fact I’d class your post as more likely to cause trouble or troll than anything previously posted on this thread.

Maybe you should look in the mirror.

Bit rich coming from someone that brought a 9yr old thread up recently just to bash a forum member.
At least mods put a stop to it ??.

Then the @..... care to comment?

Again trying to stir up trouble.

Think you could do with looking in the mirror.

The furlough scheme caps the maximum amount anyone can get paid per month. I think it is based on the average national wage.

I thi k you are suggesting the scheme should be means tested so that wealthy people can't apply? The problem then is the time and people required to administer that. The system will take a month to arrange anyway, a reason some firms are laying off staff as they cannot afford to pay them in the meantime, but if means testing was brought in you would be adding another month or more on to it. That would just increase the lay offs, the business closures.

I would suspect/ hope the Levy story is a hoax. He can't be so stupid as to do that, surely.

Football is such an emotionally charged sport in every country that it doesn't matter what the authorities do, someone will always kick off or threaten court action on the decision.

No one will ever get it right, if UEFA call an end to all comps now the money requiring repayment to sponsors and the like would be frightening, that's why they won't do it

Is it ok if say it then, because I felt it was a poor post and I have never done any of the things listed.

As my dad said 2 wrongs don't make a right...

Just his once I’ll reply through decency.

You’re first point, I thought it was light hearted, fragger removed it and gave me a warning - I apologised, no issue, learnt from it.

The @Jacko post was not trolling, learnt that day he was a Copper and it was totally against what he’d been telling us. No one else mentioned it or contacted a mod, if they had I would of explained. Your interpretation is wrong and you are seeing something that wasn’t there.

As for my reply on here, look at those who had actually commented before he decide the “usual pair of trolls were all over this thread” 16 posts ffs! Now looking at those who posted, I’d guess some would say that comment is aimed at me and you.

The fact remains, however, that it is against the warning MikeH gave about calling people trolls and he didn’t name anyone specific, therefore using his words “all over” he could of only meant BiM and IanM, 2 decent blokes who are as far removed from trolls as is possible.

Anyone can call me what you like all day, but at least say it publicly rather than hide behind a keyboard.

I accept I don’t see eye to eye with everyone, but I respect them all enough not to be snidey behind their back or hide behind a mirror.

People who continually point out supposed issues with one sport while conveniently ignoring other ills need to give it a rest.

This thread is actually about UEFA, so let's look at clubs competing in Europe competitions.

Juventus players have agreed a 4 month freeze on wages.

Barcelona players have agreed a 70% pay cut.

Bayern Munich & Dortmund players have agreed to wage cuts.

Robert Lewandowski has personally donated €1 million to the Corona Virus battle.

Chelsea offering their hotel to NHS workers.

Yup, football is devoid of integrity.

Seen nowt from foreign players here donating anything....Oh only pep, who has jetted back to Spain and is donating 1 million euros of British money to Spanish attempts to fight the virus. Not our NHS. So think on that City fans and Sky subscribers and everyone who goes to watch foreign players in our top league. And people are whining over Weatherspoons. Give me strength!!!! No matte what. IF this is ever over we will just go back to what we were doing before it happened and idiots will defend to the hilt their teams actions.

Pep is Spanish and therefore donating his money to his home country where his family, loved ones and heritage are there is absolutely nothing wrong with him doing that at all.

Mane plays for. Liverpool but has a charity that does loads for his home country in Senegal and last month made a large donation to his home country for Covid-19. Absolutely nothing wrong with anyone supporting their home nation in times of crisis.

Its their money to spend where they like, nothing british about it or would you like to get into an argument about people can only spend where they earn, absolutely pathetic..

Footballers may earn millions but nobody has a right to tell them how to or where to spend their money.

Sometimes you need to learn to engage your brain before touching the keyboard.

Completely agree with this. No doubt the OP would have complained had Gareth Bale decided to donate £1 million to the Spanish fight against corona virus rather than donate it to the UK fight. Or if Aaron Ramsey had done the same in Italy rather than the UK.

Why is it British money?
Maybe he’s donating €1m from the money he made at Barca.
Either way I don’t see how you can knock him for helping his friends & family first.
