Shock Horror, the might TW is gone.
Quite frankly I was sick to death of the BBC's relentless 'will he/wont he make the cut coverage, and having to watch that damned miserable face sulk his way around the whole round.

At least its official now, he's history, gone, finito, no more, and we can look forward to watching some of the other plethora of talent out there.

I am not alone i'm sure in taking great delight from watching the exhibition Golf played not only be the legend that is the other TW, (Tom Watson), but also the 16yr old Matteo Manassero, who considering who'm he was partnered with, played some outstanding Golf and is undoubtably perhaps a prodigious talent to look forward to seeing flourish.

TW, Manassero, and Sergio was a great 3 ball to watch, and the undoubted respect and affection earned between the oldest & youngest players out there was very endearing, and I am sure will stay with Manassero for his whole career, and life.

Roll on today & tomorrow's coverage, free of the 'Sulking One', however 'great' he may be, I for one am pleased to see the back of him.

Oh, and I;d love TW to win it now. :D

tiger will always be the audience draw though.

I completely agree that it was great to see some of the "lesser lights" show up some of the marquee names etc, but you cannot deny that watching tiger leads to some sort of emotional involvement - whether you would like to see him come a cropper, or want to see him murder the course.

This is why he will always be top of the bill, unless someone else starts beating him regularly.

I'll second that, and also add how great it was to see Westwood remaining calm and playing good, solid golf amid all the furore.

What furore?

You must be referring to Thursday I take it as Tiger on Friday was, in my opinion, the model professional.

He had a couple of bad swings, nothing so much as a disgusted look on his face, he was laughing & joking with Westwood after his putt did a full 360* round the cup before dropping, he played some excellent golf and some dire golf also.

He doesnt deserve to make the cut fair enough, but I am gutted he's out.

When the focus is on him so much, you are bound to see more negatives with him than with others simply because of the coverage, however, I thought he played rubbish golf (for his standards, and our expectations)not poor golf, but RUBBISH! and his behavior wasn't very impressive sometimes. The wind should not be a problem as he didnt have any trouble the last time he played over here in the wind.

Tom Watson is the star of the tournament so far for me, leading after 2 rounds when he walked off the 18th, having demonstrated how to play and how to BEHAVE in golf.......how gutted many of the field must feel lol?
