Tv subscriptions

Amazon is a no brainer for us the amount it’s used , it’s around £4.99 a month

Have a deal for Disney plus and also Netflix with Sky

Apple TV is free through the wife’s work

and TNT have a deal

Only thing I miss is the champions cup

The subscription model - genie has opened that bottle ,the broadcasters earn fortunes

Firesticks - ISPs are under pressure to restrict internet to those that use them to watch subscriptions content illegally. They are just a symbol of the must have society but not willing to pay the fee
Really don’t think we have to go over all that again,it’s been done to death on here & gets rather boring 👍🏻

Also ISPs can't do naff all if accessed via a VPN

Notice no issue using a VPN for sky go aboard ... Hypocrisy 🤣

Sky full package around £70 which means I get Paramount+, Peacock and limited Discovery+(no sports with that ) included
Netflix UHD via my sons account legally £4.99 (he pays it for me)
Prime via my daughter, she pays the main fee and I pay the ad free ad on.

Only ever had Apple as a free trial and only had Disney when it was free with sky.

Now TV for sky sports and boost for £27 a month. Herself beat them down to that price.
Netflix
Discovey+/TNT sports I got for Europa league and Serie A but their Serie A coverage has been reduced considerably this season so I bought a season pass to:
One Football for £99 that shows every Serie A match.

Sky sports, Amazon via work, Netflix

My kids, adults, split Disney between them and we have their log in. There is some decent stuff on Disney. Not enough to warrant a subscription for me but a split one is worth it.

We take the 3 months free subscription for Apple when Slow Horses is on but I wouldn't pay for it. Not enough on there for us.

I'm 5 weeks into a free 3 months sub with Apple. Have binge watched Slow Horses - thanks for the recommendation folk, Ted Lasso - thanks again folk, and so far series 1 of Severence. Still not sure about this one - waiting for something to happen.

Count yourself lucky. That means you can record to hard disk and skip the adverts. The fundamental business plan behind streaming TV has to be to do with making sure adverts get seen.
It is practically impossible for us to download programmes because our internet is soooo slow. The last time it took almost as long to download as it took to watch the programme!

Just noticed our Sky has gone up to £100. That to me is too much. Going to ring them on Mon.
We also have Netflix and prime mainly for postage and watch the odd programme..

Make Blackbird your next watch.

I keep forgetting to watch Slow horses 😬

Personally I think when it starts getting to £100 per month it’s a rip off.
I cancelled Sky as I wasnt getting value for money,& I was only paying £41.

Before it went horribly wrong I had virgin. £100 pcm for broadband, sky TV , BT sport etc all for that. Was definitely worth it

When I had to change because it was unstable it was going to cost me much more with sky for the same package

Never looked back. Con artists

I pay for the full sky package and use a VPN to Access abroad whilst away on business, i'm struggling to find where the hypocrisy is in that.

Are you the forums vocal against IPTV and then promoting using a VPN to break copyright? ©️

Ive shared my Disney plus with about 4 people since I got it.. now Disney are clamping down I've said to them once it asks for me to confirm they live here that's it cutting it off .. slowly their doing each person

However my father in law I never said he could use. Logged in once for my kids to watch something. He uses our profile , could have made his own id of not cared but he uses ours. So all my programmes get mucked up..

Had enough now. Off you go.. logged out 🤣

Saw this posted about the rising cost of streaming services lol

So much truth here

We pay for Netflix. And Disney Plus I think. Don't have a TV package, we just have an Amazon FireStick you can watch the normal channels through. Rarely watch actual TV though anyway. My dad is kind enough to let me watch his Sky Go account, so I use that for the golf. The Amazon account is my brother-in-laws so we piggy-back off that. Wife's auntie has an account on our Netflix too, so it's nice to share accounts around the family and help costs that way.

Our TV licence is overdue, and just as I do every year, I'm thinking seriously about not renewing it. Pretty sure we can get by without live TV or BBC iPlayer.

In summary, we're really not paying much for TV subscriptions.
