TV Series - What Are You Watching?

I’ve never understood the hype around it! Can’t say I think it’s particularly well written and same guy Jes Mercurio created Trigger point and that’s bloody awful.
I sat through the first 3 series based on the hype. I refused to watch any more, I'd have given up after the first but my wife said we had to keep watching to see what the fuss was about. We never found out 🤷🏻

As always, whatever the hype, not every show is for everyone

I have been watching 'Tales from the Loop' (Prime)
very quirky Sci - Fi, personal relationships series set some time (looks like 1970s) and somewhere in the North American continent.
Slow moving gentle series to make you think.

Twilight Zone and Black Mirror sort of thing but in the same place with the same characters.

I keep watching Trigger Point just to point out the sillyness! Last night she's shining a torch and sees something "oh hang on". Goes to take a closer look but switches off the torch. It's so bad it's good!
I gave up on Trigger Point during the first episode - "'Why would a 'demolitions' expert be investigating the crimes? That is not their job."

They also wouldn’t be a demolitions expert that approaches IEDs in the way they do. It’s horrific written I know it’s supposed to be entertainment but make it at least relate to actual role and learn about what your writing first.

Finished Deadwood a couple of days ago. Was looking for the Deadwood movie....and it's not on Paramount, you have to rent it on Prime. Granted....£3.49 isn't much and we will pay it.....but grrrrr.

Finished s3 of Diplomat the other day, really poor ending imo. Not sure what the writers were up to, trying to be really clever and make it super twisty and turny? In the end it was just a confusing mess.

Kingdom - another stunning BBC documentary with Attenborough

I saw 5 minutes and it was way too stressful! Little cubs nearly getting squashed by elephants and then the Lions get a much needed meal at the expense of another animal. Nature is cruel. My emotions can't cope. "Oh no, poor Buffalo....Oh good the Lions won't starve"...rinse and repeat!

It’s tough , the wife loves the programs but had to stop watching the first one after the Leopard , it really is tough on the emotions

We are a few episodes in to Netflix's "Monster - The Ed Gein Story" about the US serial killer.

I don't mind gory horror but have to say this is a tough watch so far. Have heard it was slated a bit for being stylised and trying to intermingle a sub plot involving Alfred Hitchcock, but the guy who plays Gein does it very well. I haven't read up on the true story for fear of spoiling the watch, but if it's accurate it is grotesque and shocking.
I couldn’t stomach it and switched off at the scene where he washes him mother after her stroke. No need for that. 😬
