I, along with many others, would say it’s one of the best TV programmes/series ever made but there will be some who will come along and say they don’t get it or it wasn’t for them.
Obviously I would say go for it.

Oh my bad didn't realise as haven't seen it but there is a good series called commando on NetFlix following the RM's. However back to the Yanks, YES they're all mental and should be very carefully policed with some of the attitudes

Yes you can normally get subtitles on a live broadcast, but they are a bit delayed and have some errors in them.
As I need subtitles for anything I tend to watch the programmes a day or two later on iPlayer, ITVx etc. by that time the subtitles have been corrected and synchronised. Programmes like “have I got news for you”, although not live, are broadcast with auto subtitles on first showing.

I really enjoyed it BUT did start it a couple of times and wasn't hooked. So give it a few episodes for sure.
Everyone in it was horrible, not for me. I need someone to pull for in a drama, if not I'm not interested.
