TV Series - What Are You Watching?

Interesting. I've tried twice to get into The Wire and just hasn't clicked for me. Same with Breaking Bad. Never watched The Sopranos either.

Interesting. I will watch The Wire but i know it will demand concentraion and pretty sure i will "get it" but need to start again after aborted attempt 6 episodes in. Funnily enough, i felt the same with Breaking bad and Better Call Saul - they are slow burners and need to stick through the first few episodes bu they get better and better and grow on you, a bit like a Springsteen song, the best analagy being Junngleland that builds slowly to a great crescendo. I loved The Sopranos from the start but must admit it is circa 20 years since i watched it

For some reason unbeknownst to me, sitcoms rarely get brought into this conversation so for me it’s between The Wire, Game of Thrones, ER, Band of Brothers arguing it out for second spot behind the clear winner The West Wing.

Breaking bad is SO good.

It’s pretty slow for the first four series but after that it’s a belter.

Compared to Sopranos Breaking Bad was on rocket fuel. I loved BB, one of the all time best for me.

The West Wing is definitely one of my favourites, along with Justified, Weeds, Hill Street Blues, NYPD Blue, Homicide: Life on the Street, Cheers, Frasier, Big Bang Theory.... could keep going and mix the top 10 round every day..

I finished watching series 3 of Departure.
Not as good as series one or two
Good premise for the series but seemed to have a not so well thought out script and a lot of errors e.g some of was supposed to be set in England but all the car number plates were not UK ones. One actor in North America one day no where near a major airport and in England the next and vice versa.

I watched until the end simply because of wanting to know what caused the incident.

Breaking Bad was also an odd one for me, I can honestly say there was much that I did not enjoy whilst also finding some of it as being up there with the best TV I have seen.

I think that Better Call Saul built better and got into its stride a bit quicker then just kept gathering pace until the end.

I was told that BCS was much slower than Breaking Bad so I never bothered. Too much TV available to bother.

Ragnarok - I've finished it now. Is that the end of series, full stop? Odd ending, seemingly half way through the series someone told the writers there will be no 4th series, so please wrap it up?

I was told that BCS was much slower than Breaking Bad so I never bothered. Too much TV available to bother.

I found it far better paced. Hits its stride a few episodes in then gets stronger and stronger.

I thought both series had a bit of a dip and then went off the scale good. BB was in amongst the early series and BCS towards the end.

Both would be in my top 5 all time list.
