I can only wonder if he changed his shoes in the car park, didn't buy a bacon buttie at the clubhouse, and didn't spend any meaningful time on the practice green, if any.

There's hope for us all yet. :)

If its good enough for Rory who am I to complain. Actually the times I have done this and hit a great tee shot must be about equal to the times I have arrived early and practiced and hit a similar good one. An extra hour in bed from now on!!

I'm amazed that it was left so late before someone wondered where he was.

I have been using this method of preparation for two years, normally I have to drive at high speed to the course myself though, I have never been escorted by Police, I guess that is why he is a Pro and I am a 26 handicapper.

It didn't make a difference to his performance. In fact,you have to wonder if it wasn't a master stroke. All that hype and pressure building up on the last day and everyone waiting for an annihalation for Europe. Rock up, miss it all and go out with a clear head. Genius
