I've tried lots of them... weighted clubs, putting mirrors, alignment sticks, swing aids, special balls, tees and markers.. but do they work? And which is your favourite? Or are we just making the manufacturers rich..?

I like a putting mirror for checking set up is correct. Very simple and easy to set up. Also like the pill putting aid. Instant feedback and again simple to set up. Both don't cost a lot either and can be used for a long time or just for a couple minuets.

I have tried the swingyed, but never got on well with it. Easy set up but couldn't figure out the benefits of it in the swing.

Most times you see a pro practise youll see alignment sticks be used, many a use for them for alignment, path, body position etc. Putting mirror/string on putting green also beneficial for me.

I don't know what it's called but just seen a robotic swing trainer on live golf. Looks the business and apparently it can be programmed with anyone's swing. You hold the club but it swings it for you, looks superb.

Imagine feeling how Rory swings the club yourself.

I want one.👍

I have a putting mirror as well, and I think it really helps ,me.
Also have a v easy and alignment sticks.
Anything that helps confirm and reaffirm what you are doing must be worthwhile.

Swingyed, shows you how to break the wrists and swing on plane more or less.

needs sticking too, but well worth it in the long run

Alignment sticks are really useful on the range, e.g. when you work on strike and want an easy way to make sure you're lined up correctly and any directional misses are actually caused by bad swings and not bad alignment.

Also great for path drills, when you need two sticks at an angle to each other for different directions (target line vs. swing path).

You could to both with clubs instead of alignment sticks as well, but they're not that expensive so I rather use them instead of having my clubs lay in the wet grass on a regular basis.

Another tool I've often used with my pro during lesson is a smash/impact bag, which can be a great tool to work on your impact/release.

I guess unless the robot would replicate Rory's swing at no more than 50% speed, the feeling you would experience would be that of your arms torn off your body and your spine getting first twisted way beyond its normal maximum until it finally breaks in half just below your chest...

Alignment sticks are good. For putting, I like to use two pegs with a piece of elasticated string, put one behind the hole and then set the string to various lengths, put the ball under and use the string as the path alignment for the putting stroke. I also like my Explanar - picked one up for a bargain on ebay last year. Not used it much over the winter as I don't like leaving it out side in bad weather, but will be using it regularly from the spring.
