Toughest hole you've ever played...

I'd agree with Brendy re 1st at Scrabo, played there a few times. The gorse has an insatiable appetite for golf balls ;)

The holes along the top of the quarry are quite difficult as well, the 4th and 5th. Great 360°views on the course.

18th at Leven Links.
457yd Par 4, SI 9. With the Scoonie Burn right in front of the green and the pin cut about 15 yards behind it.
"So so" drive and a nice easy 3 wood off the deck oinked straight into it.
Feck that for a game of soldiers

Agreed - day I played it, straight into the wind. Made a nice par 6.

Because I've been fortunate enough to play it a few times, I have to go with the 17th at St.Andrews, the legendary Road Hole. The last twice I've parred it including a sand save from the Road Hole bunker last time.

For regular play, the 9th at Pyrford. 592 yards into the wind, water all down the right, out of bounds left and then a sloping island green.

15 and 17 at Royal Liverpool when into the wind (which is a lot!). These are almost impossible to get up to in 2 when into a wind, I've hit Driver, 3 wood and 7 Iron onto these before. Tough test!

We have a par3 at heaton park. That was once discribed by John Jacobs as the hardest par3 in england. A raised tee to a plateau green. The thing is its a ravine all round the green full of mature trees and a lake at the bottom. You need to sit down for 10mins to get your breath back after the walk from tee to green.
totally agree, very hard hole.

18th St Pierre Old Course.

Easy hole. Thin a three wood into the rough halfway up the hill on the right. Pitch to a foot in front of the assembled GM gallery and hole the putt
