As a follow on from the top 5 played thread i was thinking about the 5 i would like to play that are realistic to funds etc..

1.Old Course
2.Muirfiled
3.Carnoustie
4.Turnberry
5.Ganton

What courses would you like to play in the coming year(s)???

Off the top of my head:

The Old Course
Turnberry
Carnoustie
Muirfield
Stoke Park (hopefully this coming season)

I'm playing Beau Desert and Bearwood Lakes this year (all being well!) with the forum meets which will be the first two "top notch" courses I've played in quite some time.

Realistic based on funds
Blackmoor (already allocated cash)
Downshire
Blue Mountain
Bird Hills
Sand Martins

The middle three are all p&p so I can get on cheap and I can get freebies at the last. No cash realistically for anything special unless I save hard or win on the lottery. Not exactly world beaters but cutting my cloth accordingly.

On the plus side my mum and the in-laws were going halves on some new irons so I guess I could try and get the cash and book some awaydays.

H'cap permitting for the first three (need to be back off of 3) these little beauties will be played VERY, VERY cheaply next year.

Sunningdale - Mid Age Open
St Georges Hill - Mid Age Open
Purdis Heath (Ipswich) - Mid Age Open
Bearwood Lakes - Trilby Tour
Brocket Hall - Good mate taking a teaching job there.

Blackmoor
Downshire
Blue Mountain
Bird Hills
Sand Martins

Nowt wrong with those P&Ps, especially Downshire
BM has that Par 3 (14?) at 240 ish that in circa 20+ years since i first played there and i have never got on that green in 1>

All these top 5 threads have done have made me realise how little golf courses I've played and how many I wish to play...and it saddens me :(

At least I've played Woodhall Spa

Isnt it funny though that you can see courses listed that you think are inaccessible only to find some guys have played it numerous times to the extent of knowing it very well, yet others would give their arm to play there.

Example, RCD and Ardglass, have wandered them many times (more the wee course at RCD and Ardglass), yet somewhere like Carnoustie, Troon, SA etc I just cannot see me getting to them any time soon unless it is on a jolly and some guys on here are members and it is normal to them.
Fantastic.

You're going to have a ball around MM then :D

I'm going to go for;

Troon
Prestwick
Muirfield
The Carnegie Club
Carnoustie

and Turnberry as backup.

Carnegie, good luck getting on there.
