I see the top 100 golf courses website has been updated. www.top100golfcourses.co.uk

Is you course included, and if so has it gone up or down in the rankings? My course has gone up 3 places to 80th in England. There are some notable courses local to me that have dropped in the rankings, including Ferndown which has dropped over 20 places, Hankley Common and Liphook and others like Stoneham, which have come in from outside the top 100.

There are some interesting comments from people that have played the courses, although I understand that a lot of them may be written by members.:mmm:

Personally think it is a good site, and one I use when planning my golfing trips. No I do not have any connection to the site.:)

You can also see which courses are rated highest by county. I notice Crowborough has gone down in the rankings at the same time Smiffy joined.:mmm: If you look at the reviews I am sure one is from him, 6 stars !!

I dont think they've changed round our way. I put our course forward at the end of last year as I think its better than some of the courses included. The bloke said he'd look into it, obviously not

All subjective as the rankings are based on folks reviews so if you get two really bad ones it can plummet you backward.

Decent site but the main Scottish reviewer may have been a co writer of Jackanory I feel having read some of his reviews of courses I have played.....

They seem to have it about right in Dorset. Ferndown in well down on previous years, it is not as good as Broadstone, Remedy Oak or Parkstone. Isle of Purbeck is probably too high, without the views it wouldn't be in the top 100.

I'm surprised Stoneham is in there. It's a decent track, but not a patch on somewhere like Brockenhurst, but as Dodger says... all subjective

I see Tandridge just snuck in at 100, weird that I hear good things about it, its pretty close by but Ive never played it - gonna put that right this year !!

Agree with Isle of Purbeck Nick. We used to have a golf Society day there but the couse was in such poor condition we stopped going. Rabbit holes everywhere, and the greens were full of weeds. This was about ten years ago, so it may have improved ? We moved to Ferndown, so it looks like we were the kiss of death on the courses we played.:mmm:

We have a reciprocal at Brokenhurst so if you ever fancy a game there. Also have them at Ferndown and Stoneham. Played Stoneham last year in the summer, and the course was playing really short. Even I managed to drive the 9th:whistle: Greens though were so slow which took away some of the enjoyment.

Ha, Ha. It is a beautiful course. On the third hole you are on top of a massive hill and you can see the whole course below you and the five surrounding counties of Sligo. The meets at Druids Glen this year isnt it?
Start arranging a Forum Meet, we will be over.

yes i think they got that right , played the isle of purbeck course last year , views are great but course conditions were very poor , needs money spending on the course, parkstone was the other we played , a lot of money spend here and its well spend

Played Parkstone last year, did a review on here about it. Hadn't played it for years but was really impressed by the improved condition, and the welcome in the clubhouse. Beware if you play there as they were very strict on handicap certificates. One of our number forgot his, but fortunately was able to print one off HDID

Cheers Rich. I'm going along there on 3rd March, they have a membership open day. I'm really tempted to join, it's a 30 minute drive but the course is worth it.

Let me know how you get on. Not played the course yet, but heard good reports.Think Snelly played there last year.

Nice to see Rutland is represented by the re-entry of Luffenham Heath. Way beyond my price bracket and very hard to get a game on but everyone who has played it really rates it

It is indeed Rich.....completely forgotten that I had written that review! As I keep saying, lovely course, a cross between your own Blackmoor and Camberley Heath in some ways. Some tricky carries from the tee if your driving is off, and some wicked bounces, especially when the course is dry during the Summer months. You will love it, and as promised....as soon as the weather improves a bit your invite will be forthcoming.

its all about opinions, and mine is, how is saunton east as lower than royal cinque ports and st enodoc, played saunton of the back tees ,good course but in my opinion now were near other 2

trevose 31 way to low, just an open field with very little rough

how can that be better than stmellion, and southport and ainsdale and lindrick

but its all about opinions
