• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

This may be utter tosh…

According to the website at RA

The Directors are pleased to announce that we have now successfully concluded arrangements which will allow RAGC members to play at seven Golf Courses within the UK at no charge. These Clubs operate to similar standards as RAGC and all have high quality golf courses which we are confident you will enjoy playing.
The Seven Clubs with which we have now finalised Reciprocal Arrangements are:

I was under the impression we had a reciprical with Royal Melbourne and Royal Calcutta going back to when we were based at the racecourse and wonder if these have gone now we've moved. We don't (as far as I'm aware) automatically have a deal with any other royal club based on the Royal patronage alone

Ah ok, so clearly my mate was wrong about all "royal" clubs, but it may be worth investigating to see where I may or may not be able to play!

Thanks for all the help! :)

yeah, will do, but I am not in aberdeen at the moment. I am at home for the holidays. Just wanted to get a general consensus that's all! :)

Our course has free golf with all the other members of the jewish society of golf clubs, from memory we can play:-

Bonyton (Glasgow)
Whitefield (mchester)
Moore allerton (leeds)
Shirley (brum)
and 5 around London Abridge, Coombe hill, Potters bar, Dyrham and Hartsbourne.

We can also play 4 others in the north west for free, as well as about 20 others for half price around the north west.

I think all golf clubs should have at least 6 others they can play for free, as at least all members benefit, and can relive the boredom of the same track.

Some clubs have reciprocal if they were formed in the same year.

Well… I have been doing a bit more research and found this…! Shame I won't be flying anywhere soon…

royal melbourne now your talking just a shame the travelling is a touch to far, how often do you get to play royal aberdeen a year

St Andrews golf club. Has over 1500 members. But this is the club house only as they have no golf course. The St andrews golf course is a muni, run by a charitable trust which also run the other course as well. Not a lot of people know that (said in a Michael Caine voice)

Ah I wish I could but as a student I am not permitted to sign in any guests (we can't be trusted you see :p), and there is also the slight issue that I will be at home in July for the holidays!
