• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

Thing that you have hit on a golf course. Apart from the green.

Playing the 17th at Rhos on Sea many years ago.

A mate carved one off the tee towards the car park where the Pro was getting into his car.

The ball flew in through the open door and finished on the passenger seat.

The entire patio, walkway, front of Pro shop at Blackmoor from the heather behind the bunker to the right of the the 18th green.
A masterpiece of ball extraction that flew approximately 40 yards further than any sane Human would imagine.
Nearly "took out" Sandy from GoKart as well.....

Smashed a driver straight through a plastic bin about 20 yards from the tee block. By far the best I have seen though was my old man pulling a drive on the first at Mid Yorkshire straight into the back of a BT van, with 4 lads in it having their tea break in the adjacent car park. They shot out as quick as the ball went in:D

Myself in the chest...

Flushed a punch shot which hit our 150 yard marker in the middle, and it came back at me. No time to move out of the way as the ball cannoned into my chest 6 inches below my throat. Could have been worse I guess!

Playing Son Vida Majorca a few years ago my PP pulled his drive onto the balcony of a villa , just as the owner appeared from inside carrying a tray of drinks. He just waved  so he must have been use to it .

Heard of a guy that supposedly thinned his drive that killed a rabbit, then proclaimed , birdies and eagles are easy, but rabbits hey ho !.

An evening round with my brother in law, we were playing the 18th a par 3 in front of the clubhouse directly into the setting summer sun. He pushed the ball onto the clubhouse roof, it rolled down and off and straight through a pint of beer being held by the only person sitting outside the clubhouse oob It then bounced on the concrete path, on to the green and he putted for par - unbelievable but absolutely true!

i played a cracking 8 iron into our 6th green one evening ,upon landing i saw a white flash of something and then a dark shape on the green . when i got there it was a baby rabbit ,stone dead and my ball three feet from the hole . i ended up with a birdie and a bunny on the same hole.

On our tenth and tried to take the corner on too much and cracked it straight into the trees - heard a squeal and the next minute a squirrel dropped down out of the tree.

I have hit our clubhouse bounced back off and into the hole on the 18th , and also thinned it high into the stud bar

A deer with a wild hook at Hampton Court Palace. Local rules meant I could replay without penalty and slapped one down the fairway with the second ball. Happy days although I don't think the deer was that happy.

Landed a ball on the roof of a car at Epsom Downs but the two people inside were going for it hammer and tongs so left them to it and dropped one in the fairway.

Were you on a Stag do :smirk:

"Who killed Roger Rabbit?"

Hotel at 17th Old Course, St Andrews after a horrible duff :o Had been going along really well till then including an eagle on 10th, 8 on 17th kinda ruined the card/round.

Not sure if the ball hit the sink, the cooker, the microwave, the fridge or a combination of those, but I did have an irate person show me my ball and inform me it had just been bouncing around his kitchen in the Algarve once.

Things went downhill when I asked him what he expected when buying a ridiculously positioned house half way down the fairway of a golf course.

I didn't get my ball back.

Last summer I played St Neots, overflow car park runs down the left. I hit a beautiful double cross, bounced on the car park and came to rest in some gentleman's boot, he wouldn't let me play it as it lied :)
