I've been wanting to post this for a while because it's been winding me up all year, but didn't want to until the dust had settled with regards to the annual review and any appeals etc.

I don't believe there's anything wrong with posting this because anyone can view it, i.e. there's no password protection to our club's pages on Masterscoreboard, but if a mod feels different please feel free to remove it.

I don't think there's any need for me to give any detail, it's all there in black and white, other than to say the lower of the two even had the gall to ask for his shot back after 7 x 0.1's, and was still convinced he'd get a shot back in the annual review.

Not sure if there's a question here or I'm just venting, but feel free to comment away....

They have both been given 3.5 shot cut - and it seems to me to because of results in non qualifying team comps ?

Something does seem right

All credit to your Club for addressing this.

Unfortunately not all H&C committees have the same courage. I know ours doesn't although we have now introduced a Winter Handicap system to cover the non-qualifying events held until next Spring.

It certainly helps that all the competition scores are available online, including the non-qualifiers. Its all there in black and white. None of our non-qualifiers are entered online and so this type of review would be more difficult.

Not sure if there's a typo or I'm misreading it. Are you saying they've been harshly treated?

They certainly should have been cut but 3.5 for both seems extreme looking at the scores - clearly played well together but also played in a lot of single Qualifying comps - the issue is why were some of the single Comps NQ ? Where the other people in the team comps also given cuts ?

Is it historic ? Was it the same as last year ?

thing is if clubs have loads of NQ and TS with reasonable prizes, this sort of thing happens.

the only things we have as NQ are the Christmas comps...with crap prizes solves this issue

Does seem fishy but also does look like there are a lot of NQ events. There are no singles events in my club that I'm aware of the are NQ apart from our winter league which is understandable

Looking at Mr X scores for each round, he has twice shot adjusted(for doubles) 5 over.

However looking at the other scores 6 looks a bit harsh assuming they are vaild and a lot of NR scores. (not understanding the basis of the 3.5 cut).

Pairs events can bring in weird scores but amazing results once all NQ.:ears:

What is amazing is that looking at their lowest scores on each holes over the course of all the comps, they have at least pard or birdied each holes (wish I could say the same, two holes in comps I have not even pard off the white!!).

Like the masterboard system a lot nicer to look at/use when compared to HDID at our club.

If anybody is looking at their qualifying scores as being genuine and a good indication of their ability and hence a basis for any handicap adjustments, they are completely missing the point.

They have been deliberately collecting 0.1's all season (bar a couple in April for the lower one).

Exactly and I can't see why anyone would look at individual scores as they have been building handicaps all season with no intention of getting a cut.

Well done to the handicap committee at Beedles, if only other clubs started to do the same for those that are playing the system.
