Just had a look at the weekends scores and a guy playing off 15 shot three bogeys, twelve pars and three birdies. He went round in 72 level par for the round. 51 points or 15 under.
i know the courses are easier at the moment, but that is the round that you dream of, especially when playing off 15.
He won the hamper scamper by 5 strokes. Good on him.
Owt else similar happened at your pad.

mods can you put this in the lounge cheers.

The Sunday before this, our Club Captain scored 41 points with 3 clubs and a putter. This Sunday, with a full set, he was pleased to score 35 points.

Our Captain cleaned up on Saturday. 49 points off 15. The rest of the lads were not happy bunnies so I was told. He's been docked 5 shots! He's my partner !!!!

What was lowest gross?

Guy off 17 won one of our majors a few years ago with a nett 57 in the afternoon round (-13). Apparently he had 18 shots left stood on the 10th tee. The thing is he wasn't a bandit at all, one of the regular "lads" and it was a total fluke....one of those players who hits it a long way but has no idea where it's going and on this day it just happened to go straight! Ended up getting docked 5 shots and I don't think he's broken 80 since.

I ran a society event years ago at Pine Ridge where the winner got 48 points and was called a bandit by the guy who came second with 47. He won the "kettle pot black award". There were 46 players and 40 points got you 11th.

Last I heard, Yul Brynner was rounding up six of his mates because he had experience dealing with that many moustache-wearing dodgy individuals.

we had a guy off 18 win the first medal of the year with a gross 78 or 77, CSS is 73 ....not sure he's he's played a comp since.... I think the lowest gross was 74 from a 1 handicap:rofl:

I don't know whether I'm more shocked by a 15hc going round level par or that he only won by 5!

Had my best ever round this year, was the equivalent of 45 points and I won by 2.

That should be a scratch 61 [-8] in 1969 or a scratch 60 [-7] in 1973 but no ......losing at the last in a 36 hole battle for a club Championship in 1978 was my most memorable game. [I was that awful 2up with 5 to play as well]

In a scratch match round my own track - and when off 10 - I knocked it round in 1 over gross - with bogeys on last two holes. I didn't actually play that well - just chipped and putted like I had never done before - nor since.

Had to laugh at that, someone else was 10 under handicap, some low scoring for sure. I assume your tees are a long way forward of normal tees and still fairly dry for that kind of shooting ?

I shot a 75 in a medal this year (4 over, lowest gross on the day) 6 under my handicap and still lost by one shot in my division and got 3rd overall iirc.

At our track there was a guy of 13 shoot a Nett 59! Gross 72 (par 70)! On the summer course! and I think the CSS went up to 71 that day! Unbelievable!!
I'm off 9 and the best round I've ever shot is 74! So that was unreal!

I lost on countback at an open this year.

Shot 74 (2 over) off 9. Started Bogey, Bogey, Eagle, bird, bird, par, bird, par, double :) Finished with a net 65 (par 72) I played extremely well, holed everything on the front 9 and nothing on the back!
