Thought occurred to me watching 'On The Range' last night.

Most have them have a very deliberate grip config but in all the threads I see on here re club fitting and how fandabbydosey it is, I don't recall folks saying the fitter tried me on xyz grip then abc grip

Are different grips part of the club fitting for AMs ?

It's a good question. I did 4 fittings this year and none of them mentioned grip / grip size.
I did go from standard grip with 1 wrap to midsize with 2 wraps and it's much better (it was by accident too)

In that case...

"In 2017, a representative of the R&A openly stated that it is a priority to "eradicate the term British Open" and have a single identity and brand of "The Open" in all countries.[76] Tournament partners, such as the PGA Tour, now refer to it without "British" in the title,[77] media rightsholders are contractually required to refer to the event as The Open Championship,[76] and the official website has released a statement titled "Why it's called 'The Open' and not the 'British Open'" stating that "The Open is the correct name for the Championship. It is also the most appropriate".[73] The R&A's stance has attracted criticism from some commentators.[76][78][79]"

;)
Pathetic really.

I could not care less what you call it as long as I know what you're talking about.

I have a friend who's more into tennis so when I talk about the US Open he gets confused. Maybe we should start calling them the US Golf Open and the UK Golf Open for full clarity?

Course looks in fantastic condition, rough looks really punative. Greens don't look particularly devilish. Looks like they've flattened out the bunkers meaning balls won't roll back to the middle so much.

Forecast looks like it will be fairly breezy for at least a couple of days with gusts up to 25mph.
