The Masters 2025

I stayed away from the forum and it worked 😎

Not sure I've ever been more invested in a golf tournament and more happy at the outcome. Feel for Justin but so wanted Rory to get this one done and dusted.

Happy days ❤️❤️
Me too - espcecially as there seems to have been a world record number of posts from one member. Didn't need all the distractions during a wonderful evening of golf. It amy be the future during the majors

I think this could be a complete weight lifted off him now, ended the long wait for a major and completed grand slam. He could go play with huge freedom now and bag another few majors. Plus next month the PGA is being played at Quail Hollow where he has won 4 times in the past.

Best Masters tournament I have watched in recent years, although last night left me exhausted.

Whilst it would be easy to argue that Rory still shows alarming mental fragility at times, as evidenced by the horror approaches to 13 and 18 from a combined yardage of around 200, he more than showed his resilience in the way he failed to let those errors destroy him. For all the supposed weakness, I suspect many would have crumbled in the face of those mistakes.

I’m delighted for him.

I’m not Rory’s biggest fan but after last night I’m starting to warm to him again.
Probably the greatest emotional rollercoaster evening I’ve witnessed.
The pressure was obviously immense from his reaction when holing the winning putt.
Justin Rose is just pure class.
Bryson folded like a pack of cards.
Great drama and as others have said he should go on and win more majors.

Well done Rory, a fantastic win and that was the best Masters I have ever witnessed!
Yes I am a Rory lover, guilty as charged m'laud! 😁 To be honest if I put the golf on and Rory isn't playing, then I'm not interested.

I've been laid up for the last 3months with foot trouble so have watched a lot of you tube vids of every shot of Roy's wins. It's clear to see that his golf, in all aspects has improved, especially his mental approach to the game. Which was clearly evident over the last four days.

Some folk have said that he should get rid of his caddy Harry.
Absolute rubbish, you could clearly see how much they mean to each other at the end. How do we know what is said between them during a round. Harry looks a calm and laid back character and I'm sure that influence is good for Rory. How wrong some on here were when they said he should take a 3 wood on the 18th. He took driver and nailed it to perfection both times.

It was such an emotional end to a fantastic day. Even Rorys reaction after sinking the winning putt has never been matched by anyone before.
Wonderful scenes at the end and I'm so pleased for him and his family and friends.

Wow, that was some performance last night. I don’t think I’ve ever watched a more nervy, emotional and exciting masters before, it really covered everything. Some horrible errors but some amazing golf shots to recover.

Really happy for Rory, hopefully he’ll kick on and win more now that monkeys gone. He showed amazing resilience during that last round to add his name to the history books.

Doesn’t matter whether your a fan or hater, the “bottler” and “choker” jibes can stop right now, he showed all the grit and determination needed to get the job done last night, truly happy for him.

Feel really bad for JR, he also played an amazing round yesterday to put himself in contention, just not his time yet. He showed his character too, a really decent person, magnanimous in defeat. Hopefully his time will come soon.

Overall an excellent night for European golf.

Right, off to the doctor to get my heart checked, I’m sure it stopped a couple of times last night.

I felt Harry did play a pivotol role at times yesterday. The more pressure was heaped on the more you could see Rory leaning on him and clearly their relationship is very special. I can't recall the hole number but early doors when Rory birdied and Bryson bogeyed they got to the tee and Rory went to pull out a wood. Harry firmly put his hand across the bag and Rory put the club back in, took a breath and a thought. I'm pretty sure he changed from his 3 wood to his 5 wood.

I completely agree and have never met anyone who would disagree. Last night’s effort was the definition of enhancing your reputation in defeat - didn’t think I could hold him in higher regard (especially with his efforts in things such as the Rose Ladies Series) but now I do - both in the golf he played and how he conducted himself - in all the bits we could see, anyway. I did think at some points that it was strange - if it was literally any other golfer than Rory he was against, 99.999% of us would have been cheering him on and desperately hoping he won.
