Because Arsenal are the only team that cheats.🙄
I’d rather the Refs weren’t bias and made fair decisions, regardless of who’s playing!
Imagine the fuss if a Utd player got his shirt pulled and nothing was given!
Absolutely they aren’t the only ones.
But they have set the gold standard for the last few years and are constantly innovating new ways to push the boundaries of “acceptable” cheating.

I'm quite happy that if the same incident (against Amad) had happened against an Everton, Man City, Liverpool, West Ham or Forest player, there would have been uproar in this forum, because there are regular fans of those clubs in here. There are no vocal Arsenal fans in here, so there is your first clue why there wasn't an uproar.

Furthermore, there have been plenty of people who have no connections to Man Utd who have since said that Man Utd should have had a penalty. Whereas, I have heard nobody claim a foul against Arsenal. The Arsenal players didn't seem to complain, the commentators didn't see a foul, I don't think Arteta mentioned it, none of the pundits have mentioned it (not heard if Keown has had anything to say yet). The only person I have heard kick up a fuss about it is someone on this forum who wasn;t even watching the match, and the radio commentator he was allegendly listening to).

Just a rhetorical question about shirt pulls. Why is it even permitted in any form? If a player deliberately puts out his arm to stop a ball, a free kick is given. Why not the same for a shirt pull?
Totally agree Bri, corners are the biggest issue, players are doing it because they know that 99% of the time they get away with it.

As others have said, it’s the inconsistency that gets people wound up.

It is every team and Arsenal are no worse than any other team, although if you believe the media they are the only ones.

Maybe it should be like the handball rule!
If the goalscorer is pulling the defenders shirt the goal is dissalowed.

Probably a few reasons:

  1. Managers tend to makes loads of subs in friendly matches
  2. International players rarely meet up. It is probably good for a manager to see as many players as they can, face to face. Even if they only end up training.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if there are several late withdrawals. Players that are borderline fit, but not worth taking a risk for a friendly. With a 35-man squad, it lessens the need for the manager to have to call others up late. Disruptive for him, and the players that are getting the late call.
I guess that wasn't the reason then, since Barnes and White have been added as injury replacements this morning. That makes 37 players called up in total.

…well present day top level English football might be tactically very clever…but that doesn’t make it exciting…and if it’s not exciting then for me it loses (doesn’t have) a lot of entertainment value. But there you go. Each to their own.
No, it’s not very clever, imo. But it sure as hell is boring.
How many times when the clever coach asks the clever players to play out from the goalie, do they go sideways, backwards , sideways, etc to so called keep possession, ….and then ,under pressure, boot it upfield, or lose it or pass it to the opposition who are pressing the intended recipient.
All with the objective of building an attack.. That rarely results…. from that “clever” tactic.

Those who advocate such tactics could at least concede it is boring to watch: and then perhaps look at the statistics as to how often there is an attacking outcome reaching the other half of the field.
Very few times.

Don’t believe me? Easy..just watch with pen and paper and note what happens each time.

I’m afraid premier league football has improved worse from the previous century.
