I feel for the players and especially the manager, who has since been sacked.

The lad that missed the penalty with the last kick of the game must of been under even more pressure having had to wait around 20 minutes and not even sure if it would of needed to be take, mentally that had to be tough.

The president should have come onto the pitch and made the decision at the time.

Are they going to ask the Senegal players to give the medals back?

If wonder how many wil say they have sent it to cash4gold 🤣
The mentality that makes you walk off the pitch at a refereeing decision is probably also likely to tell them to sod off when asked to return their medals. Doubt they'll get a single one back.

The decision to walk off had been building throughout the tournament and the behaviour of the Moroccans both on and off the field, alongside the poor officiating.

I’m not supporting the Senegal decision, but the Officials were disgraceful.

I’m sure there were plenty of videos posted, including on here showing the bad behaviour etc.

I agree the decision is ludicrous, but for the players taking part and winning it, it is massive to them and their Country.

I’ve seen quite a few interviews were the players over the years have stated they want to win the thing and are proud to represent their Countries.

Bit unfair for us to try and dictate what tournaments they should and should not be allowed to hold or enter.

Not really sure Afcon has much credibility, Paul. Certainly now.

The tournament always seems to me to be poorly organised with lots of iffy things going on both on and off the pitch.
I remember watching a penalty shoot out a few years ago and one guy on the bench had a spliff on the go 🤣

As I said to Billy, credibility and the AFCON has never been seen together.😂

This is a good read re the Chelsea situation. But kinda read between the lines.

There really is loads of angles to look at this story and I am especially interested in it from a City perspective, but and this is a massive but. What planet is this tit on. Seriously one Man Utd prat actually said this.
Quote,
Galling" is how one former senior Manchester United executive - who was at Old Trafford during that period - described the Chelsea situation to BBC Sport. Speaking on condition of anonymity, they claimed that "United lost out on players, Hazard most prominently [in 2012], due to their actions."

Really, your bloody club has screwed that club and its fans over for an absolute bloody fortune in that period and you have the moral compass to judge another team. No wonder you wanted to remain anonymous. You are part of the problem in football and there are many.

Not strictly football. But I was randomly in the car when this was broadcast live today. Same illness my dad had a few years ago, so I know how tough this is.

Thought it was a powerful message, especially the bit about getting checked out ASAP. I don't think that message can ever be repeated too much.

He's absolutely right. I think the worst thing a Dr can say to someone is "if you'd come to see me sooner we could have done something "
I like Danny Kelly, top bloke.

Unfortunately, that's what claimed my father.
He was 81 years old and it took him in just 6 months!
