I feel for the players and especially the manager, who has since been sacked.

The lad that missed the penalty with the last kick of the game must of been under even more pressure having had to wait around 20 minutes and not even sure if it would of needed to be take, mentally that had to be tough.

The president should have come onto the pitch and made the decision at the time.

Are they going to ask the Senegal players to give the medals back?

If wonder how many wil say they have sent it to cash4gold

The decision to walk off had been building throughout the tournament and the behaviour of the Moroccans both on and off the field, alongside the poor officiating.

I’m not supporting the Senegal decision, but the Officials were disgraceful.

I’m sure there were plenty of videos posted, including on here showing the bad behaviour etc.

We all know Fergie did it multiple times back in the day though, with Giggs etc. They hold power as their employer surely? International competition amounts to paid leave?

I think you may find he only did that when the games concerned were friendlies, to be fair.

I agree the decision is ludicrous, but for the players taking part and winning it, it is massive to them and their Country.

I’ve seen quite a few interviews were the players over the years have stated they want to win the thing and are proud to represent their Countries.

Bit unfair for us to try and dictate what tournaments they should and should not be allowed to hold or enter.

Not really sure Afcon has much credibility, Paul. Certainly now.

I suspect AFCON can stretch to knocking out a few more medals. Don't think they will be too bothered about the Senegal players keeping theirs.

That’s irrelevant though Billy, it’s never had much credibility in our/european eyes ever.

It’s FIFA sanctioned so it isn’t going away.

The tournament always seems to me to be poorly organised with lots of iffy things going on both on and off the pitch.
I remember watching a penalty shoot out a few years ago and one guy on the bench had a spliff on the go

As I said to Billy, credibility and the AFCON has never been seen together.
