Considering the red cards recently how did VAR not pick this up

It’s no different to the Simon tackle on VVD
That is worse than the tackle Romero got sent off for against United. At least Romero had the ball in front of him to be won. Red card all day long for Foden. Even with VAR reviews we don't get consistency, what is the actual point of it.

I could have posted this in irritations, but it pertains to football..

I really need to stop following the Spurs Facebook groups. They've all got their chats on who people want to be the next Spurs manager. The amount of people saying they want Tim Sherwood or Harry Redknapp as interim manager (before going for Poch after the World Cup) is staggering! A failed manage who hasn't managed in over ten years, or a manager who retired eight years ago because he was past it even then. I'm not sure Poch would be up for managing us in the Championship. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Arsenal and West Ham fans would have a field day if we appointed Tim Sherwood. Might as well appoint Jamie O'Hara, why not?

I don’t even understand the clamouring for Pochettino, if I’m honest. I absolutely get that there’s a different regime at Spurs now, but why would a manager return to a club which sacked him, and why would a club re-employ a manager they have previously deemed not right for the job?

All seems a bit odd to me.

The decision to part ways with Pochettino was a poor one

He was building a team there

Think he is a very good manager

Poch has certainly stated he would return and feels like he has unfinished business. I think when he left the first time he was a bit jaded by it all and needed a break. However, I wouldn't take him back. All you do is give him the chance to tarnish his legacy. As I said a couple of days ago, he was quite lucky the first time that we had some generational players assembled for very little money. Not the case at the moment.

I think you have to give it to De Zerbi. We know he's not going to be in for the long haul, but seems like a bit of a forceful personality to sort the wheat from the chaff, which is much-needed. And he plays attacking football which the fans want. If he comes in I can easily seeing him pick up 3 wins and a couple of draws which is all we'll need to stay up. Then you can start planning forward to next season early. Rather than wait for Poch and he can't really start working until mid-July at the earliest.

I’m not saying he’s not a good manager, or that the original decision to sack him was right.

It’s the fact he’s previously been sacked at all which makes it an issue for me.

Bring back Bill Nicholson I say

Clubs make mistakes when sacking managers as well - Real Madrid have gone back to a few

It was a reactionary poor choice from Levy

There seemed to be a load of Spurs fans on TalkSport calling for them to bring in Harry Redknapp, at least for the rest of the season.

He is nearly 80 years old, and last managed 9 years ago, when he was sacked as Birmingham coach. I'm pretty sure Harry Redknapp is enjoying his life playing as much golf as he can, and going on holiday a lot. I'm sure he has no desire to get into the day to day management of Spurs.

A journalist asked him and he said "Of course, I'd love to come back to Spurs!" Because of course he did.

Most football fans are clueless.

Sometimes clubs do it as part of a package for outstanding payments from their previous sack. If he’s owed £1m, they agree to write it off in the new contract.

As a sacked manager I’d tell them to do one, and let them continue paying me.
