I’ve already been asked if I’m disappointed in that result.

Why would I be? West Ham packed their defensive third every time United had the ball. United did not play as well as they have been doing. We don’t play well away against this opposition. And we were never going to win every game under Carrick.

So let’s be realistic. A great finish. A really hard earned point away from home. And we’ll still be 4th after this round of fixtures with Palace at home next up.

So on balance I’ll take that.
Everton away a week on monday first mate.

Saw the last 35 minutes of your match and it was a decent watch, it was a good point in the end with chances West Ham missed, Yoro 2 last ditch saves and the Traore chance.

His attitude is first class. He hasn’t let the fact he has been on the bench get to him, and when he has come on he has taken his chance.

It’s his first season, as a young lad, at a new club in a new league when he has spent much of that time being expected to carry the attack. Carrick has managed him really well, and I think he will benefit from having been taken out of the firing line a little.

It was a good idea to take him out of the side as he wasn't playing well bar the Burnley game. He's taken a few chances well off the bench but I'd still question his all round game. Mbeumo is much more effective simply due to his all round game and physical power.

That said, early days and nothing wrong with a season to bed in. It would be good to see him get a start soon and see if he's improved but that was a great finish, as was his goal last week.

Carrick has managed everyone well, despite not winning tonight, to take 13 points from 5 games is remarkable given the previous level! He's a breath of fresh air, doesn't say too much, just goes about things is a confident and classy way.

As disappointing as it was not to win, also really good we didnt lose the game in the end. I thought West Ham defended really really well, do they defend that well every week?

We do struggle to break such teams down. It seemed we needed to look to cross the ball more often, and for much of the game we refused to. When we did, and it wasn't overhit, we had Casemiro score but about 2cm offside, Zirkzee go narrowly wide and Sesko score.

Since Nuno came in they've got more organised still struggle with crosses coming in. with Disasi coming in he might shore them up a bit more

That says we're 14th but we're actually 16th. Sacked him about two months late, but hey-ho. I said they wouldn't sack him until after the window to avoid backing a new manager in the market, and it looks like I was correct.

De Zerbi is the even money favourite now. Not sure how I feel about that. It almost doesn't matter who the manager is anymore.

The second favourite is Pochettino, but he has a World Cup on the horizon, so surely wouldn't join until next season. And sacking a manager to let an interim caretaker try and keep you up wouldn't make any sense.

The way Poch has been talking about spurs recently makes me think he's coming back after the world cup. Would the US let him do both jobs at the same time until after the summer? I doubt it.

Just cannot see that happening. I don't even think he would want to do it, he must be focusing on his preparation. Especially as they're at home. Of course there's a chance they get Heitinga as interim, or even Ryan Mason again (probably not him since he's not at the club anymore) - but I'm just not sure sacking your boss and expecting a caretaker to keep you up is the best play.

I'm torn between getting someone permanent in now, although I'm not sure who would want the job unless you are desperate to get back into work and waiting till after the world cup to see what the fallout is.

Amorin and Glasner are still damaged goods from previous jobs and I think Xavi, Maresca and Alonso are waiting for bigger jobs so who does that leave, or do you throw money at someone in work in the hope that the "lure of a big club" will entice them?

Tbh it was pretty unorganised until we got a new First Team Coach, a Spanish guy called Paco Jémez came in in January, since then we have looked far more organised.
On last night I would have taken the result before kick off but obviously losing the 3 points in the 95th minute made it feel like a loss. Still there is an air of optimism around the club that has been missing since the season started and although we have some very hard games we are only 2 (C’mon the Wolves!) points from safety with 12 games to play so it could be on…

If it isn't De Zerbi, I just can't see where they're going to go. Alonso shouldn't be interested if he has any sense. Amorim certainly wouldn't get the fans on side. I think Glasner would be a dim appointment, as we discussed before, he was flavour of the week for a little while but Palace's current position isn't anything to write home about - would be a fairly identical appointment to Frank really. Has Xavi really achieved much as a manager? Maresca.. we've had about three rejected Chelsea managers in recent-ish years already, so another one that definitely wouldn't get the fans on side.

Everyone needs to be backing West Ham tonight. Their players need to be giving everything. A draw will do. Don't let them reach 5 wins in a row, keep the Utd fan from his haircut 🤣
I suspect that Man Utd fan could be happier than anyone that Man Utd didn't win. Keeps him famous. As soon as Man Utd get 5 wins, he is just back to being a regular bloke that nobody knows except friends and family.

If God managed Spurs, I still suspect Spurs fans would be underwhelmed. And probably rightly so, what can God get out of this team, especially with all the injuries?

I think the bst way to get the fans back onside is to appoint a "club legend" as caretaker/manager, which probably leaves of the top of my head Redknapp or Klinsmann or Sol Campbell ;)
