Judging by the comments, I'm guessing the Arsenal v Chelsea game isn't overly entertaining
i think there will be a red card out of frustration soon. Several players feigning contact and going down....can see a "shirt grabbing" incident as someone tries to pick someone up off the floor and a big pile in happening.

That’s exactly what it feels like watching. Not a great game for the neutral, some very scrappy moments.

Chelsea got all they deserved.

It beggars belief that modern day footballers need to take a touch and roll the ball a couple of feet in from of them with the sole of their foot, before putting a cross into the box, instead of delivering it first time when it is rolled back to them. Just asking to be closed down every time.

Be delighted if we draw Chelsea in the CL assuming we get past Qarabag.

Late to the party for the Everton / McNeil discussion, but from my side:

Yes, if true, us not speaking and explaining the situation to the player is poor form BUT the reason coming out of the club that we could not complete the deal was the fact that the AC Milan move for JP did not go through (£35m) so we were concerned about PSR regulations and also a lot of cash going out of the club and nothing coming in, thus the late decision to change from a sale to a loan with an option to buy but then running out of time.

The whole transfer was a little odd from my view anyway. A player we had no links to at all anywhere in the press and who we have loads of a fair number of similar players. Seemed an odd one, and the Everton support seemed delighted to see the back of him.

I'm still in shock we have just lumped 43m on 1 player. I remember getting excited when we paid out £250k for Eddie McGoldrick in 1989 ! :ROFLMAO:

I don’t think anyone’s arguing about the transfer falling through as it happens and the reason behind it with PSR makes sense.

But for Parish or no one in the management team to have the decency to contact the player is a disgrace and that’s the issue with it all. Hopefully the club learn from it though not sure I’m convinced with how Parish has done things before and the player can find a new home in the summer.

At first, at the time I thought no...your legs are heavy things....once they start being dragged around by momentum there is little you can do to stop them. Took the ball cleanly outside the area.

But, watching again, there is definitely seems to be a conscious move to lift his left foot upwards to make contact....so perhaps wouldn't have been overturned by VAR if given on the pitch.

Yeah didn’t think it was a pen when watching but that replay shows he lifted the leg to trip him

I think what caught everyone out was that it was reported:

“McNeil had completed a medical and the Eagles had submitted a deal sheet before Monday's 19:00 GMT deadline.
However, while Everton are understood to have filed the necessary paperwork, sources have told BBC Sport the deal fell through because Palace did not complete the required documents at their end.”

So for a player being told the deal sheet had been submitted by Palace and then hearing nothing is what’s caused the issue.

No problem if Palace changed their mind, but surely they should of told the player first.

You’ll always get divided opinions on players, he was excellent for Dyche at times and looked a real threat, Moyes just doesn’t fancy him and he’s not produced this season at all.

Hopefully It’ll spur him on to start producing again.

Chelsea fan, I thought it was a foul - but the referee missed a foul on Palmer which led to the incident in the first place.

The referee was terrible all night. Let Arsenal get away with all their persistent fouling, Saliba and Gabriel especially at it all game. I thought he looked out of his depth.

Arsenal are such a poor footballing team, I really have been shocked over the 2 legs just how little they want a game of football to break out. If we had half an ounce of quality in front of goal, we may have been able to get a result.
