Another visit to Old Trafford today and, once again, the atmosphere could not have been more different to the majority of Amorim’s tenure. The whole place just seems so much brighter in such a short period of time.
I know you had a soft spot for Amorim but I had my doubts. Carrick's substitutions were positive he wanted to win the game. Whereas Amorim would have changed the back 4.
Mainoo and Casimero are linking up well in midfield and Bruno has his swagger back.
Amorim is a decent manager and a decent bloke but he just wasn't the right fit for Utd

Bruno is a right moaning little ????

But what a footballer.
Imo he’s playing better now because he’s not trying to do the job of others.
He’d be first on my team sheet.

I liked the guy, and still think he did a lot of good, primarily in getting rid of the bad apples.

But to be scoring the sort of goals we are from open play again is a breath of fresh air. In the space of three games Carrick has empowered the players to express themselves, to not be afraid of trying things, rather than a conservative, safety first approach.

Bruno is playing where he plays best, picking passes rather than tracking runs. He was outstanding again today, and the finishes from Cunha and Sesko were top class. I’m not daft. We’ve had false dawns before. But the buzz certainly seems to be back just now.

This is the United I want to watch.

He's held Utd together over the last 5/6 years. One of their best ever signings because you wonder without him, how bad things would've got. Would love to see him win the title there before he retires for everything he's given the club.

He's still massively underrated.

But mate. They were awful 1st half and the fans were so downbeat even before Cherki scored.
2nd half was like "where have you lot been?"
That's Spurs for you. We never know which team is going to turn up, how they will perform and if they will win or lose. At the moment we are relieved to get a point a game!

If Bruno wasn't a Utd player I'd despise him. Even I'm shouting at the tell for him to STFU. But teams need a Bruno. Keane was the biggest whinger ever but he'd be first on the team sheet.

You genuinely wouldn't want him in your ailing Liverpool team?
I think he is a very good player and with better players around him than he has during his United career would have looked better in my opinion.

I think all sides would have him in their squad.

Not sure I would fancy being the ref in one of his games though, surprised he ain’t missed games with lockjaw the amount he moans

Bruno is a whinging petulant baby and I can’t stand him. However I fail to see a single team that he wouldn’t improve or fit into with his ability to move the ball forward and get into good attacking positions. Anyone that says they wouldn’t have him is clearly deluded by their current team. He’s better than Foden, Odegaard, and is far more proven than Wirtz.

He’s no Lewis Wing though 😉.

I absolutely get the fact that people hate Bruno’s moaning. I do. It drives me nuts.

But he’s not paid to moan and/or behave like a church alter boy. He’s a footballer. And a top one at that.

I was at OT back in January 2016 for one of his early games in a United shirt, in a Europa League game. What I saw from him that night was unbelievably good. He was finding pockets of space which others couldn’t, and he saw passes us mere mortals can only dream about.

On technical ability and footballing brain alone, the best midfielder United have had since Scholes.

Fernandes is a talented player , he has done well for Man Utd whilst he has been there

But just because he is good for one team doesn’t mean he will suit another

and he won’t suit certain managers as well

There aren’t many if any players that every single team or fan would take

It doesn’t mean they are bad players

When i look at our team - Wirtz is going to be our key player - i wouldn’t be swapping a 22 year old with a huge future for some 31 in the potential twilight

His moaning is probably also heavily focused on because he plays for Man Utd, is their captain and their best player. If you are the type of person who likes to see Man Utd playing poorly, of which there are many, you'll hyper focus on any negative you can. Very unlikely such a person would spend much time praising his positive attributes.

But, you compare him to hundreds of other footballers, he really is no worse. He rarely gets booked for dissent (2 yellows in 23 games this season, not sure what they were for, but its not many).

He may throw his hands up in the air when things don't go well (like so many others), and people may say that can deflate his team mates. Yet his team mates seem to absolutely love the guy. And why wouldn't you? When things are incredibly tough, when the world is focusing on your failures and laughing at you, many players will hide in games. But Bruno never hides. He'll always look to recieve a pass under pressure. At times, I think it can be a hindrance in that he can try and dominate too much, and too many players got comfortable becoming pawns in the game, rather than take a lot of responsibility themselves. But that isn't Bruno's fault, that is just the squad we had built up, and poor dealings in the transfer market.

Stick him into Man City, Liverpool or even Chelsea over the last 5 years, I've no doubt he'd be incredible.

I once heard a comment from an
Notts County fan about an old City player Danny Tiatto.
“ I want to kick his ********** head in, but if he played for County I would have his name on the back of my shirt”.
That for me sums up Bruno Fernandes.
