Why are you trying to draw the line from his armpit?

His upper arm (or shoulder) can score a goal legally, so it would be taken from the right edge of his sleeve as you look at the image above… Which is what they did?

Great point for Chelsea yesterday, thoroughly deserved, a refreshing performance… although there were individually some dreadful performances, especially Palmer and Neto. Nowhere near acceptable.
I was prompted to do so by a comment made previously.

Amorim was signed as a coach, not manager but complains he’s a coach not manager.
However, if the man in charge isn’t having any say in who is signed, what hope is there.
Likewise, football evolves and things change. A team cannot play they same format and way forever, so when things like “Utd way” and said, you know there is a problem. Fans and clubs need to give managers at least 3 years to fully put their case, and if after that time things aren’t good then replace them.
The old saying “careful what you wish for” is always prevalent.

Amorin despite the performances since he took the job didn’t seem like he was on the verge of being sacked and was going to be given time to see if he methods and system did work in the long run

So has he been told playars won’t arrive in Jan or been told to change his methods

So went public to slate the people above him knowing they would give him the boot

But the club knew that was his style. It can’t have come as any surprise to them, so if he has been sacked because of it then those is charge are even bigger buffoons than I thought, if that is even possible.

Problem now is who they can bring in. This appointment was a refreshing move for me. A guy who spoke well, knew his own mind, and didn’t suffer fools. He has done a lot of good.

The system is where I am torn. His lack of flexibility was frustrating, but we knew that’s what we were getting and, personally, I was willing to see where it took us.

Thank Christ we haven’t spent a fortune on two world class wingbacks.

I think that the last year or so has shown that the issues at United run far deeper than the manager. The level of incompetence is off the scale and INEOS are being shown to be pretty clueless as are most of those at board level IMO. Unfortunately Amorim was always going to struggle given his reluctance to change his system although as you've said, the powers that be knew what they were getting.

I was happy to give him until the end of this season and then assuming we got into Europe, back him in the summer and hopefully get the makings of a final first team. I think sacking him now is just a bit stupid, they should have just done it in the summer given the performances up until that point.

Looks like Flecter to be interim then god knows what. It's going to be the same old circus though. I just hope we don't get an INEOS yes man, I want someone with real experience and will do their own thing.

Just hope, whoever our next manager is, you learn to spell his name before he, too, is sacked 😉

When it comes to INEOS you only have to look at the track record with football

No doubt a clever bloke and has done well in other sports with the help of some very very knowledgeable people

But multiple decisions that INEOS have made over their tenure are very questionable and don’t really point out someone who can run a successful football club

I know expectations are always higher at the top clubs… it must be his criticism of those above that has got him the sack, and more fool them.

He inherited a squad that was misfiring and had a few disruptive players. They’re now 6th and have Burnley & Brighton before two tough matches. Bearing in mind where Utd have been in recent seasons, they’re in a healthy position and with a lot of back room rubbish sorted.

It’s this element which saddens me, Bri. He inherited a huge mess, and had gone some way to clearing out the trouble makers and developing a squad who seem to enjoy being there. Things are much healthier than when he arrived.

The problems are off the pitch, and sacking yet another manager will not solve that. I was hoping we had dragged ourselves out of the rinse and repeat cycle, but sadly it seems not.

At long last I thought we had a guy we would stick with, working through the on field problems by using transfer windows effectively to build a squad capable of playing his way. It’s hugely frustrating that, yet again, we have splurged money on players only to then sack the manager. At least Cunha and Mbeumo are of the quality required to work with any manager. Sesko, we will see.

I logged on to BBC Sport at 9am expecting this news. I didn’t have to wait too long.

The only positive, it seems, is that disgruntled fans appear to be returning tickets following the news.

I’ve managed to secure tickets for the City and Spurs games, neither of which were available yesterday unless I was willing to pay hospitality rates.

Happens every time a manager gets the boot.

It’s strange

the league right now is a bit rubbish , a lot of rubbish football being played up and down the league

Man Utd have lost during AFCON which has affected them and doing it now seems very strange

Been sacked imo for being critical of the DoF - Wilcox ?

That will be precisely the reason. It won’t be because of results or league position, and the club statement saying it’s because of a lack of progress this season is absolute bluster.

They must think we’re all imbeciles.

This time last season you were 14th after losing 9 games already , whilst this season hasn’t been perfect it’s a world away from last season

The clubs issues are INEOS imo
