It's funny when people think "no way (insert manager's name) goes to (insert big club), they are a circus of a club"

It's as if people think managers doing well at smaller clubs have the pick of as many big clubs as they wish, or at least can bide their time until a vacancy appears at the club they want to go for

They don't. Most managers doing well may only have a small window of opportunity to move up to a big club. Glasner may have a good rep now, but if Palace struggle for a string of games, while some other club hits a purple patch with an upcoming manager, Glasner can easily be forgotten.

So, if Chelsea wanted him and he was going to massively increase his wage, he'd be silly not to go. And if he had confidence in his ability, then managing them should not scare him.

Couldn’t agree more.
Look at the Leeds manager,he was one defeat off getting the sack.

One thing that may swing Glasner is his own financial position.
I am not aware of him as a player but can’t imagine he earnt a lot during his career.
His managerial career he has not been at any big paying clubs, A 5 year contract at Chelsea would bring him and his family serious money that he may not have.

It’s also a club with huge potential (money), in the champions league and still placed fairly decent in the premier league.

It all depends on his ambition.

Let’s not kid ourselves, Glasner is already a very, very wealthy man. Yes, Chelsea would offer him eye watering money. But he’ll already be eye wateringly rich. So it’s not all about money, it’s about what he wants to achieve as a manager.

I don’t know how Palace is run. But the rumours relating to Marc Guehi during the summer would suggest Glasner has at least a degree of influence. And to be successful at a club, surely the relationship between ownership and manager has to have at least a semblance of two way street about it. And there must be at Palace for Glasner to have lasted this long, because he doesn’t have the reputation of a man who sticks around if he feels the board doesn’t back him.

Chelsea may back managers in terms of splurging cash, but it’s a basket case of a club. Those who know more about the Premier League than any of us all say as much. There’s a strong suggestion that Maresca never even spoke with Garnacho before the club signed him. Which in turn suggests that signing was typical Chelsea - sod what the manager wants, and what the team actually needs, we will bring this player in with a view to turning a profit. It’s not about the winning - it’s about the money.

Glasner may well end up there. But if what the press, media and pundits broadly all suggest about him and Chelsea is true, it’s a match made in Hell.

He was a relevation down the left last night though (first half, didn't watch the second). Skinned the full back time and again, whipped crosses in. Great to watch. I was surprised you didn't feed him more.
Too be fair to him he did have a good game last night , but he’s so powderpuff in front of goal . He got injured last night all so , which Pep said isn’t good .

A quick Google search suggests he’s earned around £4m for his relatively brief stint at Palace. He’s not skint.

He is ok money wise

Chelsea do have huge potential but they also appear to control above the manager

It’s something multiple managers at the clubs have dealt with

Unfortunately re Savinho he couldn’t finish a bag of chips at the moment. The Cherki goal at Forest. If that was Savinho shooting, Forest would not now be asking for footage off the PGMOL as Savinhos shot would of ended up in the River Trent and that was at the other end of where he was shooting. I think his powder puff appearances are why we have gone for Semenyo.
Savinho needs a good final ball. ☹️👍

Well if reports are to be believed Chelsea are not interested in Glasner at all as they don’t like his style of football and don’t fee he’s the right fit for their management structure with 2 sporting directors picking the players and dictating style of play required making Rosenior favourite as they know him and believe they can mould him into the manager they need.

The manager they need is not necessarily the right manager as we all know. I sincerely hope not but I can see the fans suffering as a result

Couldn’t agree more and would say Glasner is what they need but heard several reports this morning all stating they’ve discounted even approaching Glasner as they do not want his style of play or his input into the team ins and outs. Seems they clearly want a coach to do as his told and just get on with what the people above deem as more important.

Why did things not work out for Johnson at Spurs?

Most ppl seem to say good things about him, he seemed a goal threat and it isnt like Spurs have been immense without him
