I’ve not seen much of Wolves, but are they really as bad as 0 wins suggests?
Apparently Liverpool were hanging on at the wk end, just drawn v Man Utd.
It’s not like they’re getting hammered every week.
A bit like Burnley, no mugs, if you can't score you are going to be in trouble. Certainly didn't look like a 3 points all season team tonight

And Arsenal needed a last minute winner against them.

They may have improved. That being said, Utd were awful. Every single attacking threat apart from Cunha have been stripped out of side, along with a lot of experience at back. And Cunha just seems to want to hold onto ball too much. That doesn't work, especially when it became clear ref wasn't going to give free kicks when he was blatantly fouled

Lost 11 or 12 games on the bounce until tonight conceeding 26 goals - they do battle but they give away so many chances

Couple of the young forwards are quick but they struggle to score from open play

Is it just me who's thinking Cunha isn't all about?

I’m on that train to. Seemed a stand out at Wolves as there wasn’t anything of real quality to compare it to, he runs well but doesn’t really go anywhere with it. Maybe just needs time to settle but starting to feel like a mid to bottom table club is his level.

He's more of a link player but the issue he's got no one to link with. Looked the only top class player in the team for the 30 or so minutes I watched. The biggest issue would be Sesko. He's looked useless and offered almost nothing in every game. His performance tonight was embarrassing for a player of that value. He's got a decent track record in Germany but he just looks weak and a nothing player.

Back to the Gyokeres is a flop or isn’t he. one touch all game so far and it was a header just over the bar from the 1 cross Arsenal actually put into the box. Every single other time they’ve had the ball they get to the byline and cut back into traffic with their wingers trying to score cutting out any threat having an actual CF has in the game.

So imo Jury still out considering the team and players around him still set out and play everything in field and can’t seem to pass to the actual striker.

He definitely shouldn't be starting in Arsenal's best eleven. I thought he was signed as a back up - someone to bring off the bench when it's tight and they need a poacher. Arsenal look a lot better with a more fluid striker in that position. I wouldn't say he's a flop as he could still prove worthwhile but he's definitely shown nothing to suggest he's good enough to start.

Given his price tag & Goals/game ratio in Portugal,he definitely wasn’t signed as a back up.

I don’t agree his current form and output with goals has him rightly starting ahead of Martinelli on the left. Based on recent performances they also looked better with Madueke on the right than Saka, Saka has been so predictable this season and missing in so many games. Ironically Madueke style is better for Gyokeres as he’s not afraid to go down the outside and pull it back across the box.

There’s definitely a player in there with Gyokeres his hattrick against City last season was no fluke it’s just the current set up doesn’t play to his strengths but winning 4-0 against a good villa team in spite of him not scoring doesn’t help his cause.

I've said this about Saka before, he's got so much quality but he never seems to deliver what he's capable of. He just seems to come in with the odd goal here and assist there. He's got the ability to get 20 goals and 10 assists a season IMO.

Arsenal are so loaded up top their third choice front three would still be among the best in the league.

Martinelli - Havertz - Saka

Trossard - Gyokeres - Madueke

Eze - Merino - Jesus

That's some serious firepower.

Arsenal are loaded and have spent similar amounts on Madueke and Eze as back ups though?
Yeah fair point.
I just think when you sign a striker who scored 68 in 66,you expect him to be the main man.
Especially when that is a position on the pitch that has probably stopped you winning a league title.

I think injuries derailed their last two title bids so Arteta went out and made sure that wouldn't happen again. Gyokeres for that money was worth a risk but it's clear he's pretty limited. He could still come in handy if they need a goal and resort to long balls and crosses. He looked way off it tonight though.

I’m not just looking to disagree with you Honestly.
But no I’m not having that.
I’m not going to google it,& will be happy to be proven wrong.
But there aren’t many goals in any of the players you’ve mentioned there.

That's true up to a point. He struggles to pass to a United shirt and always seems to take it a touch to far when advancing with the ball.
Your assessment of Sesko is bob on
