He is a glorified David Batty, without the tackling skills
Think you might be right I’ve never watched him and thought wow he can run a game ! All he does is slow play down and either get caught in the ball or play safe.

They looked better as a team when he was injured and Eze was playing. Hell of a keeper in Raya though his decision making has been top class.

Gyokeres really looks like a striker that Arsenal signed directly from Coventry.

Is he Premier League standard, let alone Top 4 PL team striker?
For a few years the press, pundits and fans were calling out for Arteta to buy a striker as that’s what was required to get them across the line. So they went out and bought one, perhaps without analysing whether he would fit into the system

Interesting that he gets nowhere near the slating Hojlund did, despite the United player scoring a few goals during his first season in a struggling side.

Yet here we have a big money Arsenal signing, coming into a winning side, producing very little, and hardly a word is said.

Strange, that. If he was performing like this in a misfiring United side we’d never hear the end of it.

In fairness, not many people really care much about Arsenal. They are just a bit bland. It is why their managers lego haircut gets more attention than the team itself :)

Nice of the Arsenal fans to make it 30 mins before singing “feed the scousers”.

Incredible response from the Everton scoreboard people to put up the Fans Supporting Foodbanks logos.

It’s good to know making light of poverty is still absolutely fine…
Both Liverpool and Everton need a better response to these chants. They need to own them, find a way to nullify them. Just getting angry is keeping the chants going, it gives morons the response they want.

As an example, when Cardiff were in the PL they came up to St James Park, I was at the game. Toon fans started singing about how Cardiff fans 'found sheep attractive ' ahem. Within about 10 seconds the Cardiff fans started a chant of their own saying how they DID 'find them attractive ', ahem. The Toon fans loved it, applauded, never repeated the chant during the rest of the game. Cardiff fans killed the chant.

I don't know what the reply should be but both need a new approach to this. Fans can be like nasty kids in a school. They look for a weakness, take that away from them.

Hojlund didn’t score his first PL goal for you until his 15th game, yes he’d scored a few in Europe before that, but he stood out as yous were struggling and he was touted as the answer to the issues up front.

Gyokeres has only scored 5 or 6 this season, but his team are top of the PL, still in the CL and semi-final of the Carabao Cup. He’s also had a month out injured.

You probably didn’t watch the waffle after the Everton v Arsenal game last night, otherwise you’d of seen Sky just talk about him and his struggles in the Arsenal set up and how their style currently isn’t suiting him, didn’t discuss any other player from either side.

I don’t really understand sometimes why supporters from the biggest Clubs in the World moan when it’s about them and moan when it isn’t.

I understand where you’re coming from, but disagree entirely. There is no need at all for grown adults, who know exactly what they are doing, to mock poverty.

The poverty gap is getting wider and wider in this country. Foodbank usage increasing on a monthly basis. “Oh it’s just a laugh, learn to take it better” doesn’t wash for me.

Who’s moaning? I was making an observation.

Re Hojland and Gykores, there’s complaints when they don’t score and complaints when your a one man team ( Haaland). I suppose the bottom line is it’s all down to opinions. 🤔👍

Supporting a championship side I saw a lot of Gyökeres. Prem clubs have a very good scouting network. Brighton had him before Coventry, and although much younger he didn’t break through. Coventry had him for a few seasons, and is was a good championship player, almost scoring for fun, but no Prem clubs have went in for him.

I’m not convinced he’s Prem level. I’m surprised a top club like Arsenal went for him instead of going for someone recognised as already being a top striker.

Hope I’m proved wrong.

Oh, it's not a laugh, no argument there. What I'm saying is that expecting football fans, sadly, to have some of moral compass is back to Grandpa Simpson shouting at the clouds. It isn't going to happen, they aren't going to say, 'yes you are right, we'll stop it'. There is a collective brain fade when many people enter a ground, that isn't going to change any time soon.

My suggestion is just a way to counter the idiots. Take the wind out of their sails.
