Dangerous bicycle kick then a blatant handball but goal stands?
The bicycle kick is an interesting one. If he kicks the defender he gets a yellow, if he doesn't it's a great effort 🤷

Handball, if the guy had scored, it would have been ruled out. Because someone else did, it wasn't. That doesn't make sense to me.

It was an accidental handball. It will never ever be given as a handball, unless the guy who's hand it hit scored. No chance a penalty would be given if it was a defender.

As for overhead kick, I suspect the rules are subjective on that. Many will feel he was entitled to go for it, didnt kick anyone, it is fine. This right for VAR not to intervene. Leave that up to onfield ref

The player who scored was the same one (Rutter) whose arm it hit, his initial shot from the ball hitting his arm was saved by the keeper, the ball was then played back to him by a team mate and then he scored.

It was found accidental handball and him scoring didn’t change it as it deemed another phase of play.😵‍💫

If Areola had not saved it, it would have been ruled out… I also suspect if City, United or Liverpool had conceded that goal it would have been chalked off. 🤷‍♂️

No chance. I've not seen a goal ruled out for a accidental handball in ages, for or against any club. Unless the handballer scored in that move.

You are correct, if Areola didnt save it, it would be handball. That is the absurdity of the handball rule. But it has been well documented by now

Imagine you are Fulham and you hear that you are about to make your record signing from Brazil.

The club shop stocks up on letters I,N,H and O in anticipation of vast shirt sales....

...and the players name is announced as.....KEVIN.

What are they going to do with all of those H's and O's ?

I understand, but don’t agree with the rule, especially in a case like this, Rutter got the advantage of the ball accidentally hitting his arm, but literally 2 seconds later it becomes irrelevant.
In that scenario, it’s handball accidentally or not, it’s handball imo.

Is it fair that a keeper should have to think about letting a shot go in to get a free kick, even worse when he wouldn’t of seen it.
