“I don't have to fight every day for my position because I earn it. I earned my position."

There’s the issue. Right there. As soon as any player feels entitled enough to say something like this, you have a massive problem. Salah sees himself as better than everyone else.

A shocking statement.

One of the reasons Sancho was sold was because he wanted a guarantee of regular football. There was an arrogance which no club should have to deal with.
Ave said it before when City have let players go that at one time were immense for the club.KDB Being a prime example. It’s tough seeing them go, but most of the time, City have got it right.
Liverpool have just won the title and then they let VVD and Salah go 🤔 hmm that was always a toughie.

He should learn from his teammates

Dominik Szoboszlai

"What happened in the dressing room stays in the dressing room. It's not for the public.

Sometimes you have to look at yourself. Ask yourself at home, if you did everything possible. If the answer is yes, we keep going." (Sky)

Salah has always got away with being lazy as his goals and to a certain extent his assists have made him impossible to drop.
Now they have dried up people are looking for him to step up and go ok it’s not going my way but I’ll give everything I can to help the team, but he was never going to change the way he plays.
What he could do though is help his team and manager by accepting the team and himself have not been good enough this season and understand the manager needs to try and improve results and take his turn at being left out as the manager searches for the right team and formation.

Be interesting how this plays out as can see it being either him or Slot that will have to leave the club after his comments.

Don’t think we will see him in the squad now until after the AFCON

And if results go our way in that period without him they maybe a sale to Saudi in the mix

I think you’re probably right.
Be a shame if we have seen his last appearance for Liverpool, people might not like it or agree but his stats show one of the greatest players in the clubs history and would leave a bitter taste if that’s him done.

That's on him though. You can't make a statement like this and not expect a consequence. Chronically bad decision, amazingly arrogant decision.

Oh he is going to be remembered as one of the best the Prem has seen and one of our best - it’s a shame that statement will have a black mark against him unless he does something remarkable to turn it around

He needs to apologise, quickly. Say it was a spur of the moment decision, disappointment of not being picked. Fans will accept that, fickle 😄. If he says nothing it will leave a bad taste.

Salahs full comments re his interview are on BBC, it don’t make good reading.
Salah says he was made many promises during the summer months. He might well of done, but that was on the promise of performing to the level you were at, not the level you are at now.

Do we think Salah got some advice from Isak?

Appalling statement, he's embarrassed himself there. Not sure he'll get too much sympathy from the fans either. Just signed a massive contract, forms dropped off, moaned like a spoil brat. If he was playing well he'd still be playing.
Yes he signed a 2 yr contract, but the owners were always going to seel him next summer. They just weren't going to let him walk for free last summer.
He will leave a legacy but I see him as like Ronaldo at Utd. The legacy is the early/middle years, but the later (or in Ronaldos case, return) years werent as good.

Spot on. Sadly, many United fans like my kids are too young to remember Ronaldo MK1. They only saw the second instalment. So you can imagine what they think of him.

As for me, in my eyes his legacy was significantly tainted by his behaviour towards the end of his days at the club.

I agree, he has tarnished his legacy by acting like a spoilt child.
Maybe he wouldn’t have been dropped if he was playing well but he is far too self centred to accept some (most) of the reason he is on the bench is due to him.

He could have come out and said I’m not happy being on the bench and I’m doing all I can in training to prove I’m worth my place in the side.

That then keeps the fans onside and gives Slot a message as well

The club now has a huge follower on social media from the middle east and Africa and you can guess who they are supporting
