Henderson has been class this season and nothing wrong with having an experienced head around the camp.
Will probably be Tuchels eyes and ears when he's out of the way.

Not sure what the Grealish hype is about? He did well for Everton for 2 games and has vanished pretty much.

He has been decent, but then so has Welbeck for Brighton and he hasn't had a sniff of a call-up. Both are 35 and I think we should be looking to the future and not calling up 35-year-olds personally.

Age these days shouldn’t matter and every squad shouldn’t be about looking to the future - it’s always worth having experience in the squad if the player is playing well enough

And yes Welbeck wouldn’t have been a bad shout with his form

He has done ok but no more than that in my opinion.
I wouldn’t have him anywhere near the England side personally but respect you have a different view.👍

In the past he prob hasn’t justified the pick and was there for his experience but watching him this season each time I have seen Brentford he has been the best midfielder on the pitch - he was outstanding against us

I just think he's a class above the other options when he's playing regularly, which he now is. Rashford is a one-trick pony. Gordon is just average with a decent game in him every now and then.

He hasn't vanished. We just don't have anyone capable of either being on the end of his crosses or finishing his crosses. He is still excellent, match after match.

I have no problem with Henderson being around the squad if his experience and attitude are brilliant and he is a great bridge between the players and the management but make him part of the staff.

I think in his prime he was worth his place but I don’t think he is one of our best midfielders currently

Or it’s just a very small minority of social media fans overreacting as we always see and dismiss

And Carraghers career isn’t too bad - over 700 games for the most successful club in English football winning multiple trophies including the biggest in European football

I always find it interesting with the “one club men”, is the number of appearances/longevity because of that. As has been said, the majority of his games weren’t exactly in a prime Liverpool team.

Is he a player that Liverpool would have signed to improve their squad, or did he get to stay as he was already there?

Carragher still played in some very good teams that whilst they won some big trophies also went toe to toe with some of the best teams in the Prem over those years- Chelsea and Man Utd

He got to stay because he was a very good player for us

6 managers continued to pick him

He wasn’t at the levels of Terry/Ferdinand etc but he was that next level down

He was also a one club man partly because no other club really wanted to sign him.

Bit more spin perhaps?

I think Liverpool finished 2nd in the league once during Carragher's career? I remember Utd having title rivalries with Blackburn, Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City. I never remember really going toe to toe with Liverpool, during Carragher's career. Perhaps Liverpool fans remember a moment in time that you were closer to us than usual. But to me, Liverpool were never a sustained threat, and just an irritating neighbour you wanted to beat when you played each other in a game.

Didn’t know whether to put this in the Laughter thread or here but it’s footie related so 🤣.

Just seen a TikTok post my lad sent me about Gareth Bale making a tongue in cheek comment back to Carragher about Champions league wins just genuine banter between them. That’s not the funny part the fans comments are!

There literally 100s of Liverpool fans slating Bale for being an average player or “mid level” player at best stating what’s he even done in his career, even saying Carragher would have had him in his pocket, the comments are literally comedy gold 🤣 Even Has Barcelona fans who hate Madrid on there defending Bale!

Anyway not trying to pile in on Liverpool it just made me chuckle 🤣, plus in Liverpool fans defence I think it was a lot younger lads that even though Bale didn’t quit long ago probably weren’t watching a lot of football pre Covid but obviously know about Carragher as he reminds everyone he’s a Liverpool legend during his punditry !
Jill Scott is getting hammered on twitter by Liverpool fans, because she said she felt sorry for Trent getting booed.
Some really nasty comments.

Carragher had a decent career on what was at times a very average Liverpool team that occasionally got some good results in competition in spite of him not because of him. Look at the teams that were regularly competing for titles during his pomp, Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, even when Blackburn and Newcastle were challenging Carragher as a player would never have been good enough to get in their teams or challenge for a spot. So he achieved the most he possibly could at a club that was happy to keep him as they weren’t tearing up things.

Does it surprise you! I have no issue with Liverpool as a team and I’m sure most of their fans are decent people but I know so many that are toxic towards any form of criticism or anything outside of their own world. It’s quite sad to see but as I said I’m sure it’s the few not the many

They vandalised Trent’s mural before the game, all because he wanted to better himself.
And then they sing YNWA 🤷‍♂️😆

My memory might be fading, but I only really remember the year they finished 2nd when Roger’s was their manager that they came close? And they should have won it that year.

I’d agree he was not the top level, a very good servant for Liverpool. If he had been there when Klopp was there I think he’d have been moved on or had to accept being a back up.

Finished 2nd under GH in 02 the years after they won a treble

They made a mess of it over Xmas

Then in 08 they came second to United after blowing it losing to Boro and a couple of draws

We kept building a team up to then blow it under GH and Rafa

I have no doubt that he would be part of a Klopp squad

These were the finishing positions in his career:
