Well what a mental game 😂

Llorente likes Anfield 😂
Salah missing an open goal and Eketike been watching Nunez finishing videos.😉

We had plenty of chances to put them away.

Both their goals were offside striker right in front of the keeper.

Good win but not a great display again we’re wide open on the counter attack.

We were very sloppy at times - but sometimes good. And should have scored a sackful of chances but didn’t.

Postecoglou has not got off to a good start ...
I didn’t understand taking off Igor Jesus at half time, very wasteful in the 2nd half and it was very much how his spurs teams played letting Swansea walk through you in 2nd half.

Swansea!!! Wow!

How do the Forest boys on here feel about that!

I’d say it was the most Foresty thing Forest have done since Forest last Forested.

We were wasteful with our chances but credit to Swansea, executed their second half game plan perfectly.

If I’m scraping the barrel to find a crumb of a positive from the outcome, it’s that we have one less front to fight on and of the four competitions we started the season in, Carabao Cup is the one I care least about.

So is Foresty the new Spursy 🤣

I think if you are City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea then you can dismiss the Carabao Cup quite easily. Everyone else, it's the best chance to win a trophy. Ask Newcastle fans whether it was worth winning last season.......

I do agree that it's the least important but can Forest be that picky?

I told you, I'm scraping the barrel! 🤣 🤣 🤣

An Ange team blows a 2 goal lead again 😂. In fairness they should be out of sight but haven’t taken their chances and not much they could do with that equaliser.

Whilst the media are lapping up this narrative, I absolutely cannot place the blame on Ange for last night.

Don't get me wrong, had he been here since the start of the summer, I'd be piloting the AngeOut train right now....BUT, he's been here a week, barely knows where the toilets are at the training ground and has had two games in 4 days (with half the squad returning from international duty a day before the Arsenal game)...he's not going to turn things around to the way he wants to play in that time.

I'm willing, at this point, to give him the benefit of the doubt and tell myself he played Willy chuffing Boly because he needed a good look at the whole squad. We don't concede at least 2 of those goals last night if literally ANY other Centreback was playing in place of Boly. I hope I never see him in a Forest shirt ever again, quite frankly.

Ryan Yates wasn't much better either whilst we're at it.

BUT, whether he's had time to implement what he wants or not - the reality is, we have 5 games in the space of 2 weeks (4 of which are away from home), and he HAS to find a way of getting a result until it's all settled.

That said, there were plenty of positives to take from last night;
- I've not seen us score a goal like our 2nd in about 15 years....If AngeBall means more of that, then sign me up.
- "B team" players got plenty of minutes and most took their chance well; Bakwa looked every bit the player we hoped, Douglas Luiz HAS to start every week, Zinchencko was great, Igor got two goals which will do wonders for settling him and Hutchinson and McAtee looked good after a nervy start....I'd bet that some of them will be starting regularly sooner rather than later.

Will be interesting to see what he does against Burnley at the weekend. Although it's not must win in anyway shape or form, I think he HAS to win to get some of the over-reacting fanbase on side. But really, we're going to have to ride this storm until the next international break and hope that we get results from the two international fixtures and pick up a few points from the league, because I don't think there's time to fully implement ANYTHING until that two week break, quite honestly.

I obviously don't know the reasoning behind it, but I think (and don't necessarily agree with) that Ange may have been a bit complacent at 2-0 up and wanted to make sure he got a good look at as much of the team as possible to know exactly who brings what, assuming that our "best in the league" (or one of) last season would be able to see the game out against "lesser" opposition....and also knowing we've got about 600 games coming up in the next few weeks - probably managing the minutes of those he thinks are going to feature heavily.

Having said that, the capitulation wasn't an Ange thing...we have done that on countless occasions in the last 4 years....It was the most Forest of things to do.

Having got the 2 goals, we played like the National team and played statues.

Also, on another night, we convert at last 1 or 2 of the SEVEN chances we missed in the second half. I know you have to take your chances when you get them, but the majority of the team hadn't played together, ever, last night (having missed most of pre-season due to late signings for the majority), and we played some really nice football.

Can anyone explain to me how xG works? I know it is expected goals but a few times this weekend, I have seen teams winning by 2 or 3 goals and their xG has been about 0.5, less than the team that hasn't scored at all. Is it just gueswork?
