Its about footy. You know some just can't help themselvesCan we try and stay vaguely on topic please?

...anyway...the Football Focus (geddit?) now shifts to the Cathedral on the Hill.
Haven't got a clue what to really expect from tonight's match...not sure where our goals are coming from and thoroughly expect Liverpool to rub our noses in it, before making off with our Crown Jewel by Wednesday.

£50 million bid apparently turned down. Seems decent but limited time in the premier league, maybe better service at Newcastle would seem him deliver more goals. But almost seems desperate now from Newcastle and everyone is turning them down. Quite worrying as it gets closer to deadline day, hopefully get someone in soon as be good to see them up near the top again.@Bazz Newcastle have supposedly bid for Strand Larsen. What do you think of him?
Will you hold on to him, would you rather take the money and buy someone else?
Was it this summer the Saudi bid ?
Did the club turn it down or did Fernandes turn the move down ?
Think a midfield of Mainoo plus a Rodri will be better but with Amorin playing 3 at the back where does a 10 fit in ?
You have clearly seen a lot more of Mainoo than I have but based upon what I have seen I think it would be a massive mistake for him to replace Fernandes at this time.
He strikes me as very limited and without the ability of Fernandes. The media reaction to him when he first came through seemed to be compensation for Man U missing out on Jude Bellingham.
I think we have perhaps tried shopping at Harrods whereas perhaps we should have been looking at Waitrose...plus you get the effect of another team seeing you are interested in a striker, and they develop a bit of FOMO and go and offer loads of money for someone they didn't know they wanted or know how they are going to use. Also...I can imagine that players wives/girlfriends also have a pre conceived idea about places and its hardly surprising that London/Manchester might be more appealing to those who have no experience of Newcastle or just look where it is on a map. Plus the general incompetence in getting deals over the line, due to gaping holes in our management infrastructure, hasn't helped.Completely ignoring the bit about player exits…
What’s your feeling (and general fan consensus) on the absolute inability to bring in a striker? Seems madness that apparently *every* player gone for so far has said no?
Elanga and Rogers (has he come in yet?) are good signings but it doesn’t seem all rosey?
It's too late, and our owners are so unbelievably bad at closing deals that we'll not replace him properly and 100% will be relegated, it's already going to be tough with him.@Bazz Newcastle have supposedly bid for Strand Larsen. What do you think of him?

I'd take Hojlund from Man U and Sorloth from Athletico...albeit the latter is at the higher end of the age scale we would be interested in, but for £30m could do a job based on his Spanish scoring record. Can see it being a cagey 1-1 tbh
See that Newcastle are looking at Strand Larsen now
I must admit, I've never had an impression either way about what a stadium's wow factor is by just watching a game on TV. You rarely see it, apart from a bit of the far end (from the camera).
I've two Everton mates in Lincoln, and they both happened to be at the game yesterday. Playing golf with one today, so I'll see if I can remember to ask him what he thought. The other stuck photos and a video on Facebook, and it looked pretty impressive to me.
Which stadium in this country does wow you from the inside? I suspect any of your answers could be pulled apart. It's probably a personal thing.
The steep home end is deliberate, back to the German aspect, as it traps the noise. It's an acoustic design. That's more important than it looking pretty![]()
Like any new stadium, it’ll take some getting used to. The only thing I don’t like about it is seeing “Hill Dickinson” plastered on it. Other than that I like it. I think the location, on the waterfront where nothing can be built around it, is great. Typically of modern designs it has scope for adding extra to it relatively easily.
I’m not quite sure what more can be expected of it, unless you want enchanted castle turrets at the corners.
I just hope the home support spends its time supporting the 11 players on the park, not slagging off the 1 player who has been told to stay away.Anyone like a bet on what minute the Newcastle fans hurt the Liverpool fan’s feelings by a chant?
I’ll go 18
Can’t see it being a friendly encounter with all the Isak business![]()
United really showed what most fans knew. You can spend a fortune on a front three but what’s behind them is nowhere near good enough. They create very little after fast starts and defensively they switch off, time and again. Either giving the ball away or not tracking runners - just watch Bruno let Smith-Rowe have a free run for the Fulham goal.
We are beyond desperate for a box to box midfielder.
I remember the club was thinking of moving to the end of the M57/58 at the main junction.Your opinion is very valid, and comes with local knowledge.
Middlesbrough moved from the old Ayresome Park in ‘95. Access to the ‘new’ is way better, even with it being next to the Tees, and the facilities are light years ahead but I don’t like it. I don’t like that it’s virtually out of town. Distance from the town centre, it might even be closer but it doesn’t feel like it’s in Middlesbrough. Heaven forbid they actually sort out a new railway station right next to the ground… the railway runs across one end and the river the other. A small pedestrian underpass - don’t ask…
I suppose the question to ask is which grounds have got it right and why can’t that be copied.
