IF a promise was made it might have been a good idea to get it in writing 🤷‍♂️
Whenever "management" changes, I think it is wise to understand that promises made by the old management might not be honoured by the new management.

That's just a basic life experience, which I'm sure most of us have experienced at some time or another, throughout our careers.

Using words like "trust" and "broken promises" and " relationships can't continue" is simply looking for excuses to justify an easy way out and support his position.

Whilst many may have a degree of sympathy for his position, im not sure that too many would condone his way of going about matters.

If he is that desperate to leave thecrelationship he should hand in an official transfer request, instead of downing tools and spitting his dummy.

This is where I have very little sympathy with players

As you say if he really is that desperate to leave then put in a transfer request

But they don’t because it means they lose money - well tough , he shouldn’t get any “loyalty” payment from any transfer fee

I wonder how Isak will respond if no deal is done before the window shuts.
Is he going to be happy with not playing until at least January or will he miraculously decide he is a Geordie after all.
He talks of promises being broken but fails to actually say what they are.
For me if you want to leave the club you are currently at then there is a way of doing it with respect and dignity.

This. With bells on.

You get your head down, work hard, treat the fans who idolised you with respect, and EARN your desired move. What you don’t do is down tools, throw your teddy out of the pram, and behave like a spoiled and entitled brat.

The way some of these players have been trying to engineer moves this summer has been beyond childish. Those advising them need kicking into touch. It saddens me beyond belief that this approach seems to be the new normal.

Quite aside from anything else, what message does it send prospective new clubs? When the likes of Isak and Garnacho decide in a couple of years that Liverpool and Chelsea are not big enough for them, then it’ll be rinse and repeat.

About time these children grew up and behaved like the adults they are supposed to be.

To be honest the whole Isak situation is vomit inducing.

TAA was a complete and utter tosser for not renewing his contract with Liverpool. He was totally honest about it.

Yet look at Isak, Lordy flippin Lordy, he Makes TAA look like an innocent Virgin and yet it is criminal that he is not allowed to leave Newcastle for Liverpool.

Pass the flippin sick bag.

How many bids have Liverpool actually made?
If reports are true only 1 official bid has been made.

Which makes it even worse, he’s behaving like a petulant child and I hope the move doesn’t happen. Players need to learn they sign contracts they have to stick to them as much as the club does!

Wissa is behaving just as badly at Brentford right now, yet the irony of Sancho he’s refusing to move for less
Money. So we have 2 players throwing their toys out trying to childishly do all they can to engineer a move despite having contracts and that the clubs need to keep because they don’t have replacements. Then we have a major club and its fans kicking off because a player is digging his heals in and saying. Low I have a contract you will honour it if I can’t get the same elsewhere 😂

Top level football has itself, poor contract negotiations, selfish players and agents to thank for its own self destruction whilst fans suffer!! The there’s is lowly EFL clubs just happy to still be in business 😂

I suspect that VAR did get involved. They would have had a check and decided that it was a penalty so no need to go any further. They check so much more than people realise during a game and not just when when the game is stopped for 5 minutes at a time.
They check every single penalty, red card and offside decision (when goal scored).

By not getting involved, I meant they shouldn't upgrade the incident to an onfield review if it is subjective. Not that they should cover their eyes with their hands and ignore it completely

When Isak put pen to paper and signed his contract, he promised to play for Newcastle United until 2028. Newcastle promised to pay him £120,000 a week.

With no release clause, that seems a fairly simple contract.

So, who is the one actually breaking promises?

Even if Isak gets his move to Liverpool, I think he could become one of the most hated players in the league anyway, amongst other fans. That will likely be true whether he stays at NUFC or not to be honest. His decision making, or the advice he is getting, has been horrific.
