Sanchos contract for example ends 2026. Why would he accept a lower deal when he could move for free next summer? Get himself a decent sign on bonus and then get wages that suit?
I wouldn't say his ego is stopping the move
Because a professional would surely want to represent his nation at the World Cup.
Na, he isn't bothered by that. Probably knows he would struggle to get into the England side anyway, even if he was playing football.Because a professional would surely want to represent his nation at the World Cup.

I'd say he is a poor professional relative to the average footballer. He could try and go somewhere, still earn decent money, and try and be an important player at another club or two for the next 10 years.
But, I reckon he is happy enough sitting on his backside, playing playstation, and picking up his £13 million for the next season. Fair enough, if that's what makes him happy
She has come out with that previously. Best ignored, no one is taking her seriously after all.Karen Carney just needs to stop talking at times - now suggesting that any sponsership and telly money into a club is split 50/50 between the male and female teams![]()
Everyone agrees Man Utd paid far too much, including wages. That isn't in dispute. And so they are very much part of the problem.Hes done that before tho. Didn't sit in man cities reserves on big money he took a move abroad which is to be commended because not enough of our youth go abroad
Got his move to united. He shouldn't have to take a pay cut because It suits united. They should pay the difference for a year if they want him off the books. Have done many times before

If he had 4 or 5 years left on his contract, I'd agree it wouldn't be easy to.leave with a big pay cut. If he was an older player with a year left, difficult to move on such high wages.
But, a guy still in his early 20's with a year left? He still had a career where he could earn tens of millions in wages at future clubs. So, with only a year left, a person motivated by football is probably going to try and get a move, to play football.
He'll be cheap for a club to buy. They will pay him a big wage anyway. And, given they will get him at a hugely discounted rate, they could always give him a signing on bonus that makes up for the difference in wages. I think he will earn £11 million at Utd for a year. Maybe £5-6 million at another club? Getting another £5 million when you sign on would seem like nothing. Especially when you see clubs like Real sign TAA a month early for £10 million
Or sit it out for 1 year then leave for free. He is 26 next year on a free. Doesn't have to leave because the club wants him to
Yeah, we know that.
If he prefers sheer greed over professionalism and an England career, that's his choice.

Why not both? He could leave in 2026 for free. Then 2 years until the euros ... Would be 28. Could easily work his way back into England...
Don't be bitter
I'm not bitter, why would I be?
I just don't get the mindset that you seem to be portraying.
It's almost like you think he should stay at United purely to spite them.
Never said to spite them. That's how your taking it. He shouldn't accept being forced to take a pay cut to leave
Either united let him go for free so the buying club can afford the wages he wants or they cover the shortfall for a year
Not his problem, he has a contract it's United responsibility to honour it.
No no and certainly no. He and Foden were side by side at City. Foden decided to play and train with world class players to help him improve. Sancho said he would stay at City but he demanded to be in the starting 11. Pep said “ not one player is guaranteed a starting 11 place, you have to earn it and be prepared to be rested in games”. So he went to Dortmund. He did well. And Foden was slated for staying.Hes done that before tho. And there you have it, he won’t easily work especially at 28 yr old when he should be at his peak. Why not both? He could leave in 2026 for free. Then 2 years until the euros ... Would be 28. Could easily work his way back into England...

No-one's forcing him to take a pay cut, where'd you get that from?
