If I remember correct, Red Bull would have had to choose between RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig going into the Euro comp they both almost qualified for. As it happened, in the end they both didn't but the subject had been raised and it was known only 1 of the RB teams would be allowed to enter the comp.
If memory serves me correct, the first time dual ownership affecting a club in the UK and European football was with the Manchester City football group. Girona had already qualified for the champs league and City did for the same season. City transferred over the ownership of Girona ( don’t ask me how).
The pitfalls of dual ownership are well known and Palace knew the potential problems in winning the FA cup.
I was chuffed that Palace won the FA cup the same way that Newcastle won the league cup and maybe there is something wrong in the sense that ownership of Palace had to be transferred before the FA Cup final. If they had lost it would not matter. But the rules are the rules. For me Palace are on very thin ice. A simple solution would be to swop Forest and Palaces european competitions.

The ownership was put in a trust - a back door way to satisfy the rules but everyone knows they will still have influence on the club

Palace can’t play in the Conference

I've seen it that many times now I've had to Google to see if his name is Thomas Frank or Franks.
Haha, I did the exact same thing yesterday, and again this morning.

Why do I have Franks in my head? Is it because Arthur keeps calling him that and it has warped the head of other Footie Thread users. Or is it a more common mistake in the media?

I think, for me, it's because Frank is a christian name but add an S and it becomes a clear surname. It is his surname so your brain thinks Franks. I'm with you, I also had to check yesterday :ROFLMAO:.

City quietly going about their business, 2 in and 3rd lined up. They seem to be very effective at doing this, doing their work early. No huge figures either.

Clearly, Everton are still working on their masterplan ;)

Wonder who is going to leave outside Grealish and the two players going on a free - they signed 4 in the winter and don’t think 3 of them have played much , Pep was very vocal about having a small squad to work with so maybe see a lot of outgoings as well

Read an interesting thread of Twitter about this, how are City able to pick up players for lower amounts that it seems other clubs would have to pay. It boils down to how their transfers are structured which again is down to the amount of cash they have in the bank. City want a player and they offer an amount and pay that amount up front. Teams like United will usually want to pay across 3 years (for example). The value of getting £60m up front is far better than across 3 years so they're able to get deals done for seemingly lower prices.

Interesting. I haven't heard that before but I guess it makes some sense.

It's easier to pay up front when you don't have to worry about PSR rules :ROFLMAO:

I'd like to think that David is chatting away to Pep as we speak 😄 . There must be some good deals to be made there, particularly with some of the younger players who would represent pure profit for their books.

Think their biggest issue is Grealish

And prob Doku

Both will prob need to go and have to get some sort of money and Grealish wages will be an issue

City just recruited Liverpools ex number 2 Linjders and a set piece coach James French

All set up ready for their pre-season (not sure City will actually have an off season this year, to then have a pre-season, but you get the gist 😄 ). No messing about with the season under way and new players and staff still coming in.
