I suspect there is someone on this thread that loves to play Devil's Advocate.

Otherwise, it is hard to understand why anyone would logically do things like heap lots of praise on Sancho or explain why Spurs should be happy with the manager that finished one place above relegation.
Just on this thread? 😆

Newcastle in for Madueke and/or Elanga depending on which gossip column you want to read.

Newcastle United signed Anthony Gordon in January 2023 from Everton for a fee of £45m.

In the preceding 21/22 season, Anthony Gordon scored 4 goals and provided 3 assists ie 7 goal contributions.

Seemingly, Newcastle value a goal contribution at around £6.4m.

Anthony Elanga scored 6 goals and provided 12 assists for Nottingham Forest in the 24/25 season.

So that’ll be £115m please, Newcastle 👍

£115 for Elanga, give me a break.

Probably because people love overhyping players after they leave Man Utd, and some get silly ideas.

🤣

I’m just applying the same mathematics that Newcastle applied when they bought Anthony Gordon.

The fact that Elanga used to play for Manyoo is neither here nor there. Forest have turned him into a machine. He’s now way better than anything Yanited have had at their disposal the last season or two.

Saudi oil money paid £45m for a 7 G/A winger in 2023. It can pay £115m for an 18 G/A winger in 2025. 👍

When Newcastle were buying Gordon they were buying potential and a very strong work rate, as well as his goals and assists. It wasn't simply cold hard stats. He performs a hugely important role in that team.

Right now, if Newcastle buy Elanga, they are buying potential and a very strong work rate, as well as his goals and assists. He performs a hugely important role in Nottingham Forest’s team.

That's absolutely fine, but I can guarantee they won't offer anywhere near the amount you suggest. Forest don't have to accept, everything carries on as it was ......

He is nowhere near £115 million.

Had he joined Forest from a club like Hull or someone, he'd perhaps be valued at £30 to £40 million.

There are several better Forest players, so he is hardly going to command one of the highest ever transfer fees.

If he is worth £115 million, Saka is worth around £500 million
