It was early on a Saturday morning, and I saw £115 million and Elanga in the same sentence. I nearly collapsed.

Mind you, Everton wanted about £80 million for Branthwaite last season, so I'm losing track of how clubs value their players these days

I suspect there is someone on this thread that loves to play Devil's Advocate.

Otherwise, it is hard to understand why anyone would logically do things like heap lots of praise on Sancho or explain why Spurs should be happy with the manager that finished one place above relegation.

Amorim's record since he came in is 0.92 points per game
Ange's record over the whole season is 1.00 per game

This is over two thirds of the season, not just a handful of games.

I'd argue Man Utd had a bigger and better squad too. Both sides suffered bad injuries with Spurs have slightly more (22 v 20).

Spurs also actually won the EL and qualified for the CL.

If Spurs think that isn't good enough, then what does it say about Man Utd that they're sticking with someone who is worse than Ange on every single level?

Sometimes though I do see why clubs put these sorts of valuations on their players.

Southampton came in for some flack for saying they valued Tyler Dibling at £100m. A price tag like that is simply saying “Eff off, you’re not having him” or “If you really want him, you’ve got to pay ridiculous money”.

To Southampton, he is a top, top player who could make a huge difference on whether they do or don’t bounce back. And to them, that is worth in the order of £100m.

I don’t see why “small” clubs should roll over and let “big” clubs just lowball them for their good players. Good luck to Southampton. Keep him, or make a fortune off him.

(And to clarify, I don’t value Elanga at £115m. But he’s clearly worth a lot more than £45m, considering the Anthony price)

His opposite number for Andorra is Pau Babbot, who plays in the fifth tier of German football.

Henderson’s experience will be absolutely invaluable against a guy like that. Morgan Gibbs-White (for example) wouldn’t have coped.

Just watched the Challenge cup final rugby.

Their video ref could teach the VAR muppets a thing or two.
They show the action and you can hear the VR talking his way through the footage.
Took 40 seconds.

No players harassing the ref .
