It was a second rate trophy that got them into CL

Had a horror time with injuries to key players

Spurs haven’t competed for decades , so what does Levy expect from Spurs , he has sacked managers that have got them up into top 4 and looking to move them on as club .

Ange will walk away with his head high winning a trophy - can only win 4 and they picked up one of them
I'm not sure that his head can be held too high. He refused to adapt his way of playing, he kept playing the same way, no matter how frequently and badly they were losing.

I think some previous sackings have been odd. This one isn't.

Agreed.

Spurs got Champion’s League football via the back door after an absolutely awful league season, just as United would have done, had they won in Bilbao. Everyone knows, regardless of who won that game, it merely papered over enormous cracks.

“Spurs haven’t competed for decades…”

Jeez, have you started on the juice early!

5 years ago they tailed off in the last few matches but still finished 4th. 4th a couple of seasons before that, and 3rd a couple before that. Around that time they were in the top 10 season after season…

Ange can't hide behind injuries when the injuries are due to his playing style

Bloke is a fraud

It’s not like they’ve sacked him for not winning the league, they avoided being in a relegation scrap because 3 teams below them were truly awful all season.

Winning a trophy as a manager should always keep someone’s head high - even more so when it’s at a club that’s hasn’t won a trophy for a long time

Ironically by changing his tactics in the final as well

Is being 3/4th competing now

5 years ago they finished 6th - ( sacked the manager in November )

They had a period from 15/16 to 17/18 when they were 3rd , 2nd and 3rd - but not once in that period did they threaten to challenge for the title in those seasons - and they sacked the manager who did that

Ok Phil when we say competing,it’s more competing for top 4 for spurs.
At the start of the season no one expects them to win it.

This season they finished 17th & lost 22 out of 38 games.
That’s not acceptable & I think you really know that,but can’t beat a good debate 😉

Give over. 3/4th is definitely competing. If you seriously think otherwise you’re deluded.

Sacking a manager when they’re well up the league shows ambition.

It’s not that long ago, same era we’re talking about here, that Liverpool had a few 4th’s, 6th’s and a… shock… 8th. You talked them up big here, yet here you are talking Spurs achievements around then as though they were relegation fodder.

Just for once, I dare you, admit you might be a bit off the mark…

Talked Liverpool up when they finish 6th ? 8th ?

So Spurs sacking a manager who got them to a CL final and those times you said they competed is a sign of ambition ?

Is it “competing” for a top 4 spot, the old Wenger top 4 , or is it competing to win trophies

Spurs sacking managers constantly will get them nowhere , it was a shocking season in the league but they redeemed themselves by getting CL next season and winning a trophy - I think he should have been given a chance next season to build on being in the CL

Quote possibly one of the worst managers in premier league history

A few managers get that instant success and then found out..he is very much in this

He managed 76 games losing 34

He didn't lose in his first 11 games which was impressive however even glen rodder could ride someone else's team to 5th then get relegated with j Cole. Carrick. Di canio , Sinclair , Defoe

Yet after this 11 games his record was 65 games with 34 loses. That's just not good enough. Found out quickly

Comparing all teams in the league (taking out relegated sides) he finished second from bottom with just wolves below him. 1 point above him in those 65 games was Brentford.. so Thomas Frank may not be the answer to their problems

He was and remains a terrible premier league manager.

Good win in the Europa league but that was a cup run. Different kettle of fish and ironically changed his tactics to win rather than being stubborn and foolish

Good riddance

IF spurs had finished the season well & showed progress, you might have a point.
BUT the didn’t & you don’t.
